If you want an intelligent MC try “The Founder Of Diabolism”. No sex so far, and it’s hella funny. Only 30+ chapters and counting.
“Kill the Lights” has a reincarnated former mercenary as the Mc, so that might fit. Complete, but extras still being translated.
“Sharing Rain and Dew” is short at 8 chapters and complete. Nice little story that makes you go back and read from the beginning to make you pick up clues.
“The Legndary Masters Wife” has a more ‘typical’ MC. Small, weak, etc. but he’s clever, and very funny. 300+ Chapters and counting.
I don’t find any of these chars ‘gross’.

Queue Legendary Master's Wife has the typical yaoi couple - rapey seme and the weak willed uke. At least at the start theyre like that, but just completely ignore that because the cultivation is kind of awesome.
