By giving away stones as part of a promotion and also to earn 5 points daily, Webnovel has ruined the reviews. There are reviews at the top of the reviews listings for almost every book that say:
'I'm doing this for points. It's in my library.😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉🛌🛌!!!!!!!!!!'
...and then emojis or exclamation marks until the 140 character limit is reached. This makes looking at reviews a load of crap, and it does not help original writers find new readers.

Webnovel needs to fix it so that books can't be reviewed if they haven't been read, and a requirement to read 20 chapters before posting a review would make it so that the reviews aren't a giant, stone scamming waste of my time. It would also protect the authors from the morons who give bad reviews to books they haven't read based on cover art. Yeah, they do it and admit it.

_Ocelot_ But for example, what if someone read your book without login or prior to creating an account on Webnovel. Let's say he truly read your story, but in his "new" account, he is still at 0, why he shouldn't be able to review?
Next, if you say: "Let's display a message, meaning that he has to MANUALLY skip to let's say chapter 21, to review". First, it's BS. Sometimes, you read a novel from the start or look behind, for a bestiary, the cultivation in that novel, the casting ect. All of those are auxiliaries, meaning chapter 0. If you can't review if you haven't read chapter 21, you won't be able and had to force a reader to manually do more actions.
One could say, "it's just a few more clicks". Well, we are all a bunch of lazy morons that hate to waste times. Numerous things were impractical, just because people don't bother to move their lazy asses to do it. The same will be applied here.
Final thing, you are pulling away the only tool for a fresh new author to have some sort of feedback for 20 chapters. I know you choose 20 randomly, but it is still a number. For that amount of chapters, and if it is a slow upload rate novel, that author won't be able to visually see if they like his story except through the comments. And they are not suited for long explanations.
All in all, if we were in a utopia, many things on this site would have been fixed. But that issue will always be dead last on the list. The only thing you can do is report a user if he doubles down (or more) a review, as it is your right.

Innovation A good start would be to disable anyone below level three from writing a review in the first place. And 140 words is a joke. A review isn't a tweet.

I think the whole EXP thing is only being detrimental to this platform. Besides the reviews, even the comment sections in novels are full of bullshit sent only to get EXP. To the point that i often just ignore them because i know there will not be any comment worth discussing.

Sometimes books don't have 20 chapters to review. Other times the books might just be terrible within 5 chapters does that mean that someone should have to soldier on through 15 more chapters just to offercontructive criticism? I agree that it's not right to review after only one chapter but I don't feel it's necessary to read 20,000 words to give an accurate opinion on a novel.

Innovation Good and fair points, but is a review that is jkhfyklb gjmm vghk or 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 140 times the sort of review anyone wants? I've read, translated, and edited books that got cease and desist from QI so I know what you mean about reading a book elsewhere and writing a review, but filling 140 characters with stupidity makes me move past a book with a weak synopsis because there's no real review to induce you to read. Ultimately they need to crack down on these junk reviews. They also need a spoiler button on comments for people who read the book elsewhere or who went to NU and picked up spoilers there. That stuff isn't fair to writers or translators either.

      Thanks for correcting my oversights.

You can always delete them then. If a person even read a single chapter and left a review on my novel, I wouldn't be mad lol

_Ocelot_ The problem isn't the review system; it's the exp system. So long as people can get exp for reviews (and comments), we will have the junk. Any new measure that doesn't target the root of the problem will only force them into finding a way around.

          And they will.

Innovation He's talking about spam, not people who have C0. Plusbhey should just limit review amount.
