I do not think its that weird... its not like you can vote on everything... the sypnosis seems catchy enough and its a new novel so people spend some time reading, check comments and see the vote thing in the sidebar and think, might aswell vote.

I doubt people spend an evening reading a novel and then go back to the power ranking or their library to click another novel and take special care to vote for a specific novel every day... I feel like the vote button is more used as a "like" button... people read something new, smack that vote button and because you do not have any more votes other novels drop in ranking untill you caught up to that latest chapter and the novel enters the back of your mind untill the next time you catch up... at least thats how it is for most binge readers.

So once the hype drops and the binge readers got their brainfood they will spend the votes on whatever they are reading next and the rankings will slowly sort themselves out... if you based power rankings on monthly votes instead of weekly I bet it would look totally different. It would at least drop a few ranks.

f5_sect_noob Its a fast paced story but I got fed up with the info dumps. I guess a lot of people like that, but its really not for me. The MC is kind of an idiot really, he can afk farm all day but he doesnt do it.

It js really weird though. Remember when Monster Paradise was new and number 1? The votes weren't too far away with the 2, a hundred or so vote difference, not like now. But a lot of people leveled up so multiple power stones and a bigger difference?

Orillion I guess the synopsis was the main cause of the hype. Including myself got hooked by the synopsis. But as I read the novel, I was utterly disappointed, the story was pretty general, plot holes, lame MC and even the "hack" it self is very confusing and flawed. I mean, what the hack is that? (pun intended)

Yi_Wan She should turn-over the translation to a translator having more time to translate.

sakura90 but since it is so hard to look for a translator it wont be sooner than later -_- huhuhu

I dropped Shadow Hack after the first five chapters. I have almost every other top 20 (and more) novel on my reading list (dropped God of Slaughter because the author has ADD and I got tired after 300 chapters of random plot direction). I don't see how this novel has nearly double the votes of Library of Heaven's Path or Release That Witch for a few reasons:
        1) It's barely been released, has so few chapters, yet it magically gets a ton of votes every week as soon as weekly reset happens.
        2) The story is honestly... terrible. It seems to be written by a middle school kid in how the story is simply dumped on you, the naming of things sounds like something a kid would think of to sound cool (Fifth-dimensional currency? Flux energy?).
        3) The reviews are probably among the worst in the top 20. No one that's actually read the novel has given it a good review and reasoned why it's good. And most of the good reviews were made before the novel was even released.

Is there a reason for Power Rankings if someone can set up extra accounts/bots to vote for something? I thought Qidian was going to enforce rules to delete bot voters, but well... I definitely was expecting too much.

f5_sect_noob I don't even understand how the synopsis could hype this story. The synopsis looks like something an elementary school wrote and no one edited it. Virtually every other synopsis in the top 20 is written better.

I suppose "system" stories are really popular. To me, I feel that it's a cheap plot device to introduce some kind of mentor to the MC that is omniscient, super portable, and only known to the MC. I prefer a transmigration type of beginning where the MC carries over superior knowledge from his/her past life (Release that Witch) or has an OP power that the MC actually uses with great effect (Library of Heaven's Path). Shadow Hack's MC's system power... just levels the MC. The MC has no personality, ambitions, or direction. He's not funny, domineering, or awesome... just some scrub loser that got a treasure and doesn't know how to take advantage of it.

I'd vote for shadow hack too if not for a previously liked novel.

Eksentrysyti Almost every of MC's actions/decisions are dumb and questionable. Just like you said, the MC got no personality or brain. The amount of random information that dumped straight in to your face+dumb and boring MC makes the plot/story develop in weird but obvious direction.

So, this rank phenomenon should be listed as one of "the most unsolvable mysteries"

Seriously it has been way too long for Lord Xue Ying to be voted.... Literally the only character actually cultivating a spear art !

THIS is original.... Shadow Hack... it one thing : Technologically Advanced World.... and it's almost like there is no information about this world.... Heck our hero isn't a transporter ! He's a dude who was born and live in this world ! What kind of world building is that ?!
Well maybe it's a late bloomer like King's avatar....

Eksentrysyti you described it purrfect :cat2:
Can you see that, the mc just too op in the begining hahaha no progress, even Er gen mc's need some "Progress" in begining,

I thinks this novel kinda mystery
