Whelp I was just reading one of my novels when I went to the next chapter it wanted me to unlock it and was like wtf I thought I had a sub so I could read without having to unlock. There wasn't anything on the app saying that subs had gone away and nothing on the main website either. I only managed to find this thread by googling webnovel elite subs.

Disappointed in this quality of life going away. Guess its back to the underground railroad for releases. At least with elite subs I could support the writers but there's no way I will spend 60+ USD on stones for unfinished work. And work that has tons of grammatical errors, spelling errors, etc.

NookNatu03 u go to playstore/googleplay website. there's a "subscribe" section for u to turn it off

I suggest users to go on google play/app store and give webnovel a review so that other users can beware of other problems. Also it’ll lower their stars. Maybe a bunch of negative reviews will finally get their attention.

Not paying a single $ on this website until we get some clarity / some sort of response. This is beyond unacceptable level of communication.

Don't know how many of you guys are aware of Webnovel Official Twitter Account and their Own Content Director YUREN_LIU_YO is also on Twitter and from the looks of it he seems to give a prompt reply. Also there is actual tweet by Webnovel on 14.03.2019 which attached a London Book Fair and topic shown on tweet is MICRO-TRANSACTIONS or SUBSCRIPTION ? . I guess serious guys about their Refunds or Elite Subscription may try to reach Webnovel on Twitter (Disclaimer : I don't the content of the book fair just saw the heading and thought of Ironic thats all)

The inherent problem is that the SS system contradicts with a subscription system. It's also tied to the payout of people. Because, "It works in China". If they ratio'ed the payout based on chapters read, then all the popular authors would naturally earn less than the newer authors that the subs sampled.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I just wished it to be back. Anyway we'll be buying the membership fee, for those who are willing. And for those who cannot afford just wait for the rewards. But for an addict reader like me who spent whole day and night reading it's really a pity. It's good that I'm stingy from giving too much gifts (I'm only gifting those of my most most love novels and keep the daily rewards.) So think I can only minimize my reading habit from now on

When Kindle Unlimited only costs around $12/Mo for access to full books, you guys charging $25/Mo for similar access to periodicals is already approaching a ridiculous price but marginally acceptable so if you have some authors complaining, maybe they've gotten a bit greedy because it's doubtful the ones doing the complaining are putting out significant or quality work to begin with.

I was enjoying this cause I didn't have to buy power stones anymore, I loved being able to spend 20 a month and get to read without worrying about spending more money, I would vote and use other things to support my authors I was reading from. This is bull, so me gifting and voting means nothing

The fact that you guys didn t give us a warning means that you wanted plenty of us to use unknowingly any SS we had. My guess is that after you made more profit from people buying SS you will then bring the subscription back with shitty conditions.

My sub ran out, and I miss Elite subscription already... I am really wanting it back.

I purchased Elite subscription on the 20th Mac but the sub is not working. I purchase SS but no amount is shown on my account. My library is also zero.I have to retrieve all my books.

Exactly this. To me being charged around twice as much for similar content is pretty crazy. I understand everyone in the chain wants to get paid (author, TLers, editors, QI), but doing so at prohibitive costs is a big turn off as a consumer. The spirit stone approach is a deterrent to me as a reader. I want to read less and less content (and no new content) since it's such a risk. At least with the premium I looked forward to reading new books and recommend to friends.

Now with Elite gone I guess it's back to free books and just the two or so books I'll toss my remaining SS (that I already gifted half away expecting Elite to stay!!) at. Pretty disappointed.

It surely affects me and others reader.. We already spend most of the SS that had been purchased before can you imagine how much it cost us..it not easy to purchase back those SS.. Hope that your team can make wise decision

Well with élite sub i added a lot of New novel and i gladly gave away aller of my SS now going back to old system means giving up on more than half of my currently Reading novels ...
Anyway i m pretty sure that premium was more effective for a majority of author but wasn't lucrative enough for thé app. Though 25 dollars a month ans u still think it's too cheap i Can get m'y Netflix +FF14 online with this ...
