We need a new webnovel competitor in the play store. It needs to be a company not based in Asia and has a high focus on customer service. I'd rather give my money to them at this point. I hate this company, but have no choice but to use this app for the latest chapter updates. I'm slowly weaning myself from webnovel...

Whether you are a free reader, paying reader, author or whatever, there's dissatisfaction all around.
I'm a paying reader. I pay for membership, I pay for privilege, I pay to top up my coins and I even pay a bit on patreon because that author is nice enough to post their novel on this place for free, so I give a bit back to him.
I've been reading here when it was a website, before they even had the app.
All I can say is I can understand the Original poster and how he feels. I'm also very dissatisfied with how Webnovel treats it's paying readers. It doesn't matter if they change it to a paid app. They will just ask more and more money from us.
Like those rigged pay-to-win events. And those events that give lousy prizes and story specific FP I don't even read.
Whatever they do, it's to find ways to fuel our reading addiction and make us spend more money.
What pisses me off even more is their customer service. It's atrocious. Try reading a book that you are paying for, even spending money for privilege to read their privilege chapters where suddenly, without an update or an explanation, the novel stops translating any more chapters.
Apparently it's been dropped. No warning. No nothing.
Ah I'm ranting. Point is, everyone is dissatisfied. It's a messed up system. Changes are good for some, bad for others.

I highly doubt their staff would keep an employee if they keep making wording mistakes, causing more work for other departments. Im sure it's done on purpose now.

It means first purchase (ever) of the account you have or you wont be getting your bonus SS from this challenge.
People who bought the 2500 SS are screwed if they were relying on that bonus 2500.
You only get the usual +750 bonus SS when you purchase 2500 SS.

Some people are mentally vulnerable and they read to escape the pain in their lives by reading and escaping to these worlds in the novels. If these people get addicted to the novels here, they may end up spending an exorbitant amount of money because they may not be thinking rationally.
Some of these people are the big spenders who spend over $100-200 a month to be able to read to their satisfaction. I dont like how this company manipulates people, especially vulnerable people who actually cant afford to read on this app.
I like the idea of spreading the joy of webnovels and having a big platform that people can rely on for ease of use, but I disagree with the methods of this company and how it treats people's passion for reading and writing. So unless they change how they treat their customers, I think it is not a good thing for people to discover the app.
Reading addiction is a real thing, just like Alcohol addiction, Gambling addiction and Drug Addiction.
As a big company with alot of reach and power, I think they have a responsibility to be good humans.
They are the influencers, movers & shakers of our webnovel world. Of course people should be responsible for themselves, but not everyone has a good sense of self control. And in my eyes, their marketing methods target these sort of people.

To be honest I'm royally pissed off at this company for how disgusting they are. We need to spread awareness of their methods and business practices so new customers dont get addicted and scammed. They can get information from there if they want to, and we dont need to keep bumping this thread up for people. We can just make new threads to use certain search terms in Google.

santier Webnovel doesnt like the author of EPIC, as he gets alot of powerstones and hogs one of the top spots. So they flooded the top 10 Original novels with crappy CEO novels from bots with powerstones.
Why cos he doesnt earn money for webnovel. I hope the author uploads his chapters on more than one platform just in case.

Still the whole situation happening and people being affected from the lack of notifications is an issue. The app page was still touting Elite Membership last time I looked. I suggest you make a complaint about the app to the app store and leave a review.
I don't believe QI/Webnovel will be addressing our issues, they have terrible customer service and I doubt they will care about us unless it affects their profits.
Everything they do seems to be a scheme to get more money off us, but not in a way where we all benefit, only them.
Even if they may open dialogue to us in the future I have already seen how they work and what they think of their customers.
When you abuse trust, it's hard to earn it back. We are here for the convenience, and if it's too troublesome, we will go elsewhere and relay information about their bad rep before more people become victims to their schemes.
