lenapresents There are many Yaoi readers so you have an audience, don't worry about it.
Lots of Views but Nothing Else?
Been my problem too since I began joined WN last Feb then I start writing until I make it full-time by April till now... I have lot of views but no comments then one or two. Am not really promoting so I have no reviews that much. Then somehow, they began coming out now and am glad as long as they seems love the chapter and feels they were comfortable to talk to you. And since I love to talk to them we're Now began interacting.
lenapresents same prblm here..can please anyone what to do ..what's the matter..I am having 12.5k views on my novel but no reviews, no comments and no ratings..no votes..what to do...???

lenapresents people are sometimes just being a silent reader and yeah, just don't mind it and keep posting.
They probably like your story and just waiting you to post an update, they usually just searching for some hidden gem story though.
Some of them
lenapresents That was posting today? That's not bad. A word of warning, this site does attract scrappers and aggregators since the cut/paste function isn't blocked here. So, this can boost the views.
You might want to use this link that we tend to use for stats tracking: https://forum.webnovel.com/d/24319-what-is-your-collection-to-views-ratio-2 This is the second version. This is something I use a lot to show me if I'm gaining or loosing readers, whether readers are reading. It's not an exact science, but it's the best we have.
birjis_ sorry, I cannot find your novel and you already mention the number of views in the comment.
it's been 17 days since I start writing without zero promotions, this is my current stats Is this good or bad? I need feedback I have been feeling a little down lately.
37 Collection, 20.2K views, 23K Word Count, 17 Chapters.
My main audience or collection are from the US.
This is purely my observations after tracking stats and so forth for a while. Views is just that, views. As in views to a book page.
I have a strong feeling it's calculating on page impressions. That is, number of times a book page is clicked, new visit, return visits, a certain percentage is scrolled (my guess is 1-2% of a page = 1 read), clicked through to another chapter link and so forth. A view is made up of a number of things hence the inflated view count.
This is just my guess.
A better indicator is collection adds and view increases.
Enlightened_Being 545:1. Loosely, for every 545 views a person added your book to their library. That seems a pretty solid reader interest.
Veronica8 Yea, and thanks, Just gain another 1 collection I got like 46 collections before but due to slow releases in the last 2 or 3 chapter like skipping 2 days or 3 days without release, they seem to be unpleased.
I was exhausted because of my jobs.
While I failed to go epic (I aimed for 10K:1), 103K reads and 12 collections still belongs in the departement of absurd.
Obviously those twelve poor souls don't spend their days maniacially clicking the story until their fingers bleed. It's most likely a result of scrapers combing through 120 chapters again and again and again.
I won't try my hands at it, but I have a feeling that if you published 2500 dummy chapters with random characters you'll probably hit a million reads pretty quickly.
Enlightened_Being People love quick updates, I’ve noticed this as well. Personally, I recommend making a choice between the following: quality or quantity.
This seems like an easy choice for most of us. After all; most writers strive to write quality stories. This, of course, takes time. And patience. Something readers often don’t have (the previous statement is a generalisation).
Novels with (several) daily updates are popular among readers due to the large quantity of reading material they are presented with. Yet often I find that this goes at the expense of the overall quality of the writing itself.
My point is that though it’s normal but upsetting to lose readers due to slower updates, it often translates in better work. And believe me, those who enjoy a good novel will stay and appreciate your work all the more.
Personally, I update once a week (or whenever I’m finally pleased with my writing). And I’m taking a two month long pause due to exams. This isn’t popular amongst general audiences, and I lose a lot of readers with it, but who am I to hold that against them.
So lastly, don’t mind those that leave. Know that those who stay will love you for the work and love you put in your writing.
Veronica8 wow, helpful. Also, very concerning about the scrappers. I mean, Wattpad has those Vietnamese mirror sites and people have stolen my stories despite the copy block. But not having copy and paste blocking just makes it so much easier. Dx
Veronica8 I suck at math but this should be pretty easy, right? 375:1
I actually posted about 8 chapters in February and ditched the site up until last week. When I came back, I had a ratio of 322:1. Pretty confusing since I spent 5 months not updating. XD
I haven't done any promotion as I'm just now taking this seriously. Doesn't that mean since returning and updating regularly, I've gotten worse? Hahaha.
Sigheti I'm ahead on my book as I've been posting on Tapas since November 2018. I have updates scheduled to 4 times per day. 12am, 6am, 12pm, 6pm. Because of the time zones. Majority are in the US but I also have a lot of Nigerians. Otherwise it's Philippines which is a 12 hour difference. Not to mention the HQ of the site is too. (@_@) I want to switch to once a day weekly when I get to season 2 but no clue what time.
Sigheti thanks, appreciate it with all the discussion we had in this thread It struck me with an Idea.
