Patreon and premium is not the same, but for paying readers, premium is such an advantage that is a massive bargain. For free readers, however, it just became worse, but not as bad as the inconsistent less than 7 a week of other fan translations, and not as bad as people make it out to be.

If some day webnovel-translators feed themselves just translating their beloved novels would be the best.
        hypothetically what path do you think could lead to this kind of reality? And what would you choose between a higher income (retribution of your onw effort) and a lower one if you ever had to be hours translating something that you've already read for someone like yourself (who are just thinking about your onw ass).

            derangedlol They are giving respect by not putting up a real pay-wall. Creating such a massive community with loads of content that even a month isn't enough to read all of them is already worth paying respect. They just suck at pr, but that doesn't mean they never listened, and they never did research about the current state of the translation scene. 7 a week, after all, is still better than the pathetic release rate from years ago. Anyways, I do respect your opinion, and I was highly against QI during the old debacles that happened. But, after spending so much time reading here since I quit editing, I know that QI is superior compared to the other fan translation sites out there.

                There are second hand website just like Qidian with a even bigger catalogue of novels(From the Novel Updates database).. its one place to read all the novels.
                Why do you think, I haven't used them??
                They have existed for a long time, they show novels even without using the SS system(free novels). They are Paotian of the international scene!!
                But we, me and my friends still haven't picked them up.
                We still go to different websites to read our favourite novels.
                I have disabled adblock on all of them.
                I am a pirate through and through, I have done piracy before(if not for it , you haven't been born little guy) I haven't pirated a game, but I have pirated movies and anime.

                        Arch How long do you want to bet before they put up a paywall? Look, I enjoyed reading on QI with their adwall, because I was never pressured to pay money. But with the removal of an adwall and the reduction of the translation speed, if I ever want to feasibly finish a novel, I have to pay for it. I'm not against QI making money, but I'm against them trying to force me to pay (maybe i just want free shit dude), and I'm against them morally as a company.
