ValKree It’s healthy that you wrote so much, there are some very interesting ideas. I liked the concept found by chance, on the road, the usual and old and kind of unnecessary thing but ... Perhaps a random smelly shoe that they found on the road, or a strange amulet. (somewhat reminiscent of a movie about a teapot that gave money for pain, I don’t remember its name ...) I also read little about super abilities, apart from the novels of Ursula Le Guin, I watched Marvel!

Actually most stories with system lose themselves at some point because of this. They either cease to update the status or skills, or little mistakes appear like the levels or stats don't add on, the impact of stat values is not really felt ect..
A good system is not so easy to write even if i love this genre.

It’s like in the Age of Empire there was a cheat code - spiceman or bigkar. Why not keep it simple and reuse an old one?
You'll get two plots for the price of one.
The Norse/Greek/Japanese etc (or mix them if that makes you happier) pantheons exist, but in the modern world they can't get personally involved (for some convoluted reason or another). Hence they have to solve internal conflicts by proxy.
Add the spice that the proxies in question are never told why they suddenly are able to do some funny shit. Voila, you have a set of super heroes 100% clueless what they're supposed to do with their new abilities, and in the background you have a set of gods wrecking their divine brains about how to make their personal superpowered moron do whatever said god wanted him/her to do.
The rest of the insanity is up to you.
StenDuring The concept is clear. It is interesting in that the hero does not know that he has superpower and where it came from. But to use sacred forces in the text is somehow not the case. Everyone has their own view of the world. But as I have already emphasized, the concept is interesting!

Btw, I was actually thinking along the lines that the proxies, and possibly their surroundings, are very much aware of the super powers -- just not the source. That way you cpould have a shadow war between deities in the background and the usual blatant powergaming between humans with super powered people as an extra part of the arsenal.
StenDuring This is a curious idea. The shady side, instead of spirits, you can use the old aristocratic clans and new clans, or rather groups or workshops. The struggle for power and influence!
My main character is an ordinary person, cook, gourmet, chef. But behind him, a whole shadow war of clans might erupt ... a very interesting idea ?!
