Despite popular discourse on the forum that the premium system is a scam, I believe it’s not really that bad.
The reason is because Translators might get more “benefits” with this new system, and i think they deserve more benefits.
Also, this post is to balance out the negative energy that’s been prevalent in the forum.

EroticEarwig I do realize it’s an unpopular opinion. It’s like price for Girl Scout cookies increase and I celebrated it. But there are weird people in the world, right?
Also, why do people insist on being so riled up like it’s gonna make a difference?
You know What will make a difference? Money and profit. So unless, there’s an decreased in profit, qidian ain’t gonna change the system.
If you can’t change it, why not make peace with it.

Could you explain to me whats wih the premium chapters? How do they work?
I actually like the premium system. Sue me.
Oxy One improvement is that people who pay SS for premium chapters still get 1 free daily chapter. Say premium is currently at chapter 50 and free is at chapter 30, and you paid SS to read until chapter 45. For those who don't pay, they get chapter 31 free. For the guy who say paid until chapter 45, get 46 for free.
TL;DR Have the free daily chapters work as unlocking the next locked chapter, rather then the same premium chapter being unlocked for everyone.
What i want to know is if i can continue reading a premium novel like Super Gene without paying and how or if i want to continue it i have to pay for premium
People are really riled up by how much of a scum-bag way Qidian is going about all of their actions. Changing expiry levels on stones without a word, reducing daily SS, causing bought SS to expire (even if they're bonus, you still payed for them) Releasing unedited/poorly edited chapters as "premium" chapters.
I mean really? A drop in quality once you start paying for an, again, "premium" chapter?
Not only that but once you decide to delve into a premium novel; which will be every single one soon enough, and pay to unlock however many chapters are released, you are then cut off from a single new chapter until the free ones catch up or you pay again. (Which could be a month or two, or closing in on a year once the premium chapters have built a large enough lead. I believe one already has 45+ premium chappies)
They treat us all as fools and then you expect people to be happy at it?

Well that is because you are weak in the thinking area.... Premium is the most retarded system I've ever seen in my life.
For example. Yesterday they gave up some mass releases? If you are using premium you don't get free chapters.
There is daily free chapter, not for you if you are using premium. You have to buy all the chapters.
Premium is pure scam and you must be blind to not see it....
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for the content but I am not going to be scammed...
I don't really mind the premium chapters thing, I also don't mind buying spirit stones "IF" the novel that will be made premium would increase its chapter release and make the quality of translation better.
The thing that I don't like with the current system is that they seem to rush implementing someform of paywall.
I don't want to offend but, instead of having just a handful of selection where i can spend SSs, I would be more interested to buy spirit stones if there will be more selection of good novels that I can spend my SS on.
I am also not a fan of making the previous "supposed to be" free chapters , go premium. It would have been nicer if they just increase the release rate and the extra added chapters would go premium. The current state of free chapters on premium novels is now 1/day that was previously something like 2-3/day.
I think they could have had solved the problem of earning money if they just increased the ads, i wouldn't mind seeing 10 ad posters in a single chapter on free chapters that they are releasing. This way, they could have made more money on regular readers, and slowly implement the premium novels afterwards when they have around 100 nice novels with good quality that i can choose to use my SS on.
I don't mind the premium system as you can earn SS and just be patient it's just my hobby afterall
probably the majority of people that are upset about the system is because they get behind in the release so they are "forced" to pay and also when they pay the bonus SS expires. Well idc tbh hahahaha
Miya Honestly, most translators and editors don't deserve it. There shouldn't even be a single mistake in the translation after going through a translator and editor. I don't care about the 'they are also human' excuse. I'm also human, but the mistakes they make is so simple i can spot all of them with my level of english. They should be better than me. It's their job... For example, The Strongest System translator do deserve it, i can't see mistakes in his translation, but sadly majority of the translators and editors are doing a subpar job unlike him. So yeah, as long as the subpar translation and editing exist, most of them don't deserve better...
N0xiety The majority of the premium chapters in Super Gene are just a huge wall of text. I can't, neither I will pay anyone for a job of that quality. You'd assume a premium novel would have a increase in quality with the increase in revenue, but that's doesn't seem to be the case as they are just pumping up unedited chapters...

Also, I guess I agree with you on this. Translators who do their jobs properly definitely deserve it, however, there may be others who don't deserve it as much...

I don't mind mistakes in fan translations who only ask for donations (without forcing them), but Qidian is a company making profits with translations and the translators are employees by contract. This is no longer a donation towards the fan translator, they are selling a product, so I expect quality for my money.
Additionally to the quality, I highly dislike this system. Why should I buy premium chapters when I have to wait just as long as the free readers, when I cannot sustain the money flow?
