CKtalon but there are differences. 1 fast pass could be used to open 1 chapter with any cost size. For example, a chapter thats cost 3 ss/coins or a chapter that cost 57 ss/coins would still need only 1 fastpass to unlock. But free ss/coins are only useable by the sufficient amount needed. So if they only give free ss/coins (maybe 10) instead of 1 fastpass, they could open 3 chapters that cost 3 coins each, but they could not open even a single chapters that cost more than 10. So I guess each has their own plus and minus.

GegeSadewa It doesn't matter in terms of earning enough to translate such long-chapter books.

Regardless of which story is picked won't only 200-300 chapters be translated before it gets dropped. Isn't that the new trend?

To me they seem to be doing more poorly than the novels webnovel picked before trial read.

Which is kinda damning for trial read.

Jeez if WN wants a fair earning of trial reads then they should make adjustments. For example, if they release a chap, the length of the chapters decides how much passes it cost. As such, if a chapter is around 1-1500 words, then that cost 1 fast pass. If 1501-3000 words the unlocking of fast passes should cost 2 fast passes. That way, they can have a stable earning of money in a book. Just think about it, people used alts to unlock a chapter. But if you change the system and had a single chapter consist of 3000 words cost 3 fast passes, even if those people who use alts(who only usually has 2 fast passes on their alt), they can’t unlock the complete 3000 words in a single chapter, hence, they can only be forced to unlock the chapter through coins. Of course, you going to adjust the cost of unlocking a chap in coins as well to balance the entire thing.

Thing is fast passes earns nobody anything. They have ZERO monetary worth. Hence why the suggestion to make them 'worth' X amount of coins is never going to fly.

You can't judge the earning of a book by the number of fans.

If a person spent 1 coin, he would be counted as a fan

Imagine a book having 3 fans in a week, each giving 1 coin
While another book have one fan that gave 5 coins.

You will say book 1 is profitable as it have 3 fans as you can only see that, but only the insiders would know how much the book is actually earning which might be completely opposite to your expectations.

Reinherz If you're talking about looking at the comments on last Chapter to judge the paid readers that read that chapter then You can't.

Not all paid readers comment on last page or even on chapters. Out of 100 people, only 5-10 might comment. It just depends on how engaging that chapter is. Some books might have 10 readers out of 20 who feel like commenting while others can have 5 readers out of 30 that comment.

Other than the internal staff, no one can see how much a book is earning

As for the fan ranking, except the top 3, it don't show how much others spent on the book.
