i'm really curious about this that how many chapters do y'all prefer in a complete novel with each chapter having around 1-1.5k words?

The amount of chapters doesnt really matter, as long as the story is good and the pacing is not drawn out/slowed down drastically to fulfil a certain amount of chapters. :)

      I'm sorry, if I came of passive-aggressive, didn't really mean to diss/attack anyone or anything! (T ^ T)

I totally understand that when going premium, one has to reach a certain amount of chapters to enjoy the full benefits of the MGS. Fillers and all are all good as long as the pacing of the story is not drastically slowed down...

But if you aren't aiming to go premium and have a finished novel, just update with the 1-1.5k words/chapter. There shouldn't be a certain amount of chapters that one has to have.

Imo, for those on MGS, they need to deliver 1.5k daily. For everyone else, doesn't matter.

It's as another has pointed out, delivering to the story is more important than delivering to a word count per chapter.

About chapter's lenght, definitely not micro chapters (below 800), as they feel rushed or lacking.
I like shorter chapters (like, 1,200 words ), because I feel they convey more action and good pace, and the cliffhangers are more natural.
I don't like reading long chapters (more than 2,000 words). But MGS demands 1.5k, so people stretch a bit, and not always the cliffhanger is natural. It's a bit tiresome.
I don't like super lenghty novels, I think it's perfectly okay to end a novel after 250, 300 chapters, and perhaps start a sequel, prequel, etc, with new arcs.
Series are awesome, and you at least can say 'I like this sequel, but not this one, because X', and it doesn't damage the entire novel's reputation.

LinShui oh noo, I didnt mean it in a bad way or saying you said it in a bad way!

It was more like a joke or dab at myself? Idk how to explain it.
Like you saw right through me or called me out and I felt it, like ah man Im doing all these things I shouldnt do... Haha

But I totally agree with what youre saying!

I read a novel with 428 chapters and it had everything I like in a novel.

              Totally agree.
Chapter more than 2K words in each feels tiresome to scroll or even page turning. Novels more than 500 chapters which get locked at 55 or so feels like a drag to me.

              PJM_ meh, it's your wish.

As someone who used webnovel for 3 years, let me give you an eeny peeny tiny advice.

As long as the story is ultra interesting, everything else doesn't matter

              Make it EPIC~!!!

You're losing focus of the goal of your story telling. By asking us what our preference for chapter lengths are per novel, you're now telling us:

Hey, how many lectures do y'all wanna sit through to listen to this story?

Some people read and stay because "your novel has loads of chapters!" Is this the crowd you're trying to appeal to? Is this what gives you the feeling of accomplishment?

Don't focus on the length of chapters. This is the webnovel scene. You don't have to be too worried if "it's too short" or "its too long". Instead, focus on the content. What can you deliver to us with your story? What emotional ride will you put us in? What suspense will you create? Focus on all that, and even with 8k chapters, we likely still won't get enough. Ignore it, and after chapter 5, it's more than enough.
