Oxy Comparing web novels to published books is meaningless. They are very different. The quality is significantly lower in general (not saying all, many surpass a great deal of published books, and others are at levels where no publisher would accept it). Would be like saying that Spotify charging 1 dollar for every song heard is totally fine, because an album is way more expensive per song. Also, the amount of free stones only goes that far, a chapter takes less than 10 min to read even for a fairly slow reader, which means 20-30 min of free reading a day. While that does not "fine", it must be remembered what they are competing with here, which is free alternatives. For some people, they don't read more than half an hour a day, so all is good for them, but others who read a lot for whatever reason, it can quickly get expensive. Which is why I should a subscription option would be good to add upon the current system. I doubt many would say that the current "value" offered by Webnovel/Qidan is above services such as Netflix, so a monthly sub of 10 or 15 dollars for unlimited access seems fair. Chances are that it wont even have a negative impact on the money made for Qidan, as many just "sub and forget" to services. Adding options like a 12 month sub for a discount could make them earn even more. I would subscribe if it was an option, even if I won't actually reach the breaking point where it would be cheaper than just using spirit stones, just because i prefer services with exact pricing where I know exactly how much I am paying, and not these small constant micro transactions.

As I already said I don't wonna have a dialog with brainwashed bird and QI bottom kisser so don't bother answering this or my other posts, I'll just ignore it. Everyone is already understood that premium plebs will defend their stupidity to the grave and any other is a leech for them. For those who upset to see his novels go into premium you have three choices 1) Bend yourself and feed a corporate machine with your money
2)Place novel on hiatus(delete from library but not history) untill a)premium is gone cause QI realize that it is will not work or b) there will be enough stockpiled chapters - This one is my pick - there are too many good free novel to read on NU so losing few titles for a year is not a big deal.
3)As someone mentioned already there are sites which ripoff premium chapters and post it for free, no links or names will be given cause I dont really support this way unless you do it to boycott ''premium program'' and still support those novels at least by voting for them daily(supporting on patreon is lost it cause for premium titles, yes it is still running but QI forbid premium titles to release chapters there).

I am all for compensating authors, translators, editors and webnovel.com -- they all do good work and deserve to be paid.

My only gripe, my very major gripe, is the amount of money that they are asking to be paid. I pay for Kindle Unlimited, and I have all the books that I could ever read, for $10 per month. Compare that to webnovel.com where I would spend at roughly that amount for each premium novel that I read. $10/month for one web novel vs $10/month for a library of complete books. Keep in mind that the web novel is not even complete and, at best, I might get 2 chapters per day.

Some may fairly point out that I have the option to not pay and read only free chapters. This is absolutely true. And this is exactly what will happen once my stock of free spirit stones has been fully depleted. I'm not here to complain so much as I am hoping that QI will better understand the market that they are in, and price their service accordingly.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I feel like you are basing your business model from a false perspective. You are a Chinese based company using an eastern outlook to create your business model. You have a customer base which is made up of primarily Western English speaking consumers. I personally will never purchase SS to read premium novels. It is entirely too much to pay per novel. Now if you were to introduce a monthly, quarterly or yearly subscription plan, I would definitely be interested in that. Good luck and I hope you can become profitable.

Premium subscriber should at least have an advantage in terms of the amount of SS obtained from daily log-ins and votes.

I didn't even kbow that spirit stones will expire for a period of time..I tried keeping mine..when I checked I lost over hundreds of them ..df!!

The premium chapters could you keep it like 1 week before making again like ads/4 ss options.

Since, there are more free readers than premium, why not have a policy like patreons. For those who wanna read advance, of course premium readers could afford thatby using ss. But me, as a non-premium, I could wait it, like a week. It just that I dont want to drop of your wonderful novels, same for the others I think.

Like for example with the TGIF event. Making premium chapters in one or two novel to free while having a mass chapters for premium ones. I think premium chapters will stack for those non readers as this days will come, and when you change it into free in TGIF, I think I'm gonna run naked outside.
