2 hours ago I got a little tired of cultivation novels so I went and checked out some fan fics. I went to the video game section and low and behold there were only 4 damn novels past 50 chapters.

The fan fic video gane category has over 500 novels yet only 4 are over 50 chapters which is a disgrace. 95 %of novels on there did not even cross 20 Chaps and have been dead for a damn year. So I left fan fiction and discovered this is going on in every damn category.

So my question is why does Webnovel allow this on the site. I want to begin spending money but how can I when the site is so unprofessional. Why does Webnovel allow 30 chapter novels that have not been updated for years on the site. They are not even on hiatus.

Because they way I see it these dead novels are discouraging new authors cause they feel their novels will never be found in this haystack of dead novels.

My suggestion is that every novel below 50 Chaps that has not been updated in a year be deleted. This site would feel much fresher would trash out of the way.

I agree, I won't say delete but hidden instead, meaning only the author can see them. Then, once they are updated again, they can be unhidden and reappear once again in the searches. It's also weird how authors can't even properly delete either.

I agree with ya. As much as we hate it though, once we upload a book on the site, it would be there forever. Meaning to say, we can't unpublish a book we published here in webnovel. We could change the title and the like but the published book would remain. That's probably why there are too many dead books.

I'm one of the authors who get crestfallen after seeing those as well. But as an author, I just gotta do what I can and have faith in my book. That's how it goes in this line of work, I guess.

This is not really a diss post, if I may say. It's more of a splash-of-reality post since it does be like that. I hope you won't get attacked with this post since it's the reality. :))

Dante_Carter_6387 I can see eye to eye with you on this. I admit, I am disappointed by the fact that most of the fan-fics have very few chapters, yet I am still happy that I can find some few good exceptions. I mean, if some fan-fics fall under the category of "short stories", then I would give it somewhat of a pass, but yes, I see your point. One story I wrote in the fan fic video game category that I started back in May currently has around 36 chapters.

Dante_Carter_6387 You didn't check all the categories. I update up to four chapters a day and am 100's of chapters in updating steadily without break, and I know lots of others like me. If you look you can find them. It's just hard because webnovel doesn't categorize by newest updated. If there was a button that sorted by this criteria it would be absolutely amazing.

Fan fits are stories written by people who have some spare time and passion. Fanfics rarely is ever grt monetized since the story is owned by someone else. So they kind of flare up then their passion dies and it gets dropped.

You should check the video game section instead of fan fic. The King Avatar is quite nice and is pretty long and completed.
