*write the story in your own pace, use timed release when you're quite far along for a daily release rate untill you finnish, this also gives you some breathing room.
aim for 1500 - 2500 word chapters
use grammerly to spellcheck the worst of it.
write an engaging prologue that stands out
avoid the bad clichés like a Primordial Royal Sovreign Dark/Ice/whatever Pheonix... For a mythological creature like a pheonix...
look at what works for the stories you like, and what you can learn from them to apply to your own.
ensure your story is legible by splitting the text up in sufficiently small paragraphs to be smartphone friendly and professionally formatted (look at popular stories for examples of how to professionally format your stories)
*Promote your story on social media
*keep schooling yourself on how to write stories by following things like the writingexcuses podcast.
write what you want to, don't let your eventual audience determine a thing.
dont beg for attention to things like patreon accounts if you don't have a single completed story yet without a large following.
*Keep authors notes in the authors notes.
- Dont use smileys or emoticons.
Those are the most important guidelines that come to mind.
For your story's landing page:
- Find a more appealing title
- Get a more interesting cover
- Rewrite the summery in a more engaging, dramatic, grammatically correct and legible way.
The same summary can be written with the same content im half the size with twice the appeal.
I recommend watching the classic world of warcraft intro for inspiration and epic movie trailer voice overs to get a better idea of how to really make the summary / introduction to your story pop.
I also want to point out that the name mentioned is really unique, but as a result, hard to relate to and even more difficult to remember, which is something to consider when aiming for an english reading audience.
As a result your storie's landing page, despite the fact that genre and content wise mentioned it lines up with my usual reads, it doesn't appeal to me.
That mainly indicates a packaging / marketing issue as the hardest part is getting people to click on your story, then getting them to click on past the landing page.
The crystals combined with the current image is not something that sparka my curiosity enough to click it just because it shows up in one of my search results.
Its too bare bones to stand out.
The landing page and the way the rest of the information is presented, doesnt flow enough to inspire confidence in this being a good story, which is a real shame, because you got really good, sincere, positive and constructive reviews.
Unfortunately, people rarely read them anymore if the summery / introduction above it doesn't appeal.
I recommend looking for a cover that works to transfer the mood in a mysterious way, a good example of a novel doing this is The Mech Touch, as well as The Oracle Paths. Both of those covers are abstract and mysterious enough, yet indicative of the overall mood of the story and the genre they take place in to draw your curiosity.
A picture is worth a thousand words. That means that by not getting the right cover image, you lose the majority of your story's appeal.
Likewise the title being rather non descriptive doesn't do many favors either.
That's about all that is immediately relevant that I can think of... I hope this helps.
