I'll help you, man.
Just make sure you have a cool looking cover for your novel and have an interesting title. And if yo add in daily releases then you are bound to get more views.
Many novels have the lack of a better word sh*tty covers and they are always the ones that get less views. People see bright colours first which Is why my cover is a bright blue colour. Just make it eye catching and the views are bound to come.
Hi, i actually click on your story. There are some font errors on chapter 5 but nothing serious.
In fact, your story is interesting but you should change your title because it doesn't make any sense... (maybe The Most OP Mage of the Kingdom of Romania) for example.
Avidfan The title is not a mistake because the parents of the main character didn't have any idea if their child's name should be Judah or Judas so they decide to put both names. And in Romania, the name of the child and family is different than in America, the family name is first, then comes the name of the child, and then the second name. The name of the MC is Gremory Judah Judas. But I will consider changing the title name, after all, this is a web novel, not a book. Thanks!
And about grammatical issues, I always try to change them, but every time when I change them, they remain the same. And I have tried everything.
Septic_Red The ones I've seen with thousands of collections are all ones that have signed the royalty contract with Webnovel. If you want to sign a contract I think you could email them or something...but it comes at a price, so beware.
Septic_Red I dont know youe novel and i wont check unless i stumble upon it.
But for me my usage is as follows:
- search for my favourite tags
- sort on updated
- look for an appealing cover
- read title.
If i like the title, and its descriptive enough together with the picture to give me a little insight into what sort of story it is beyond the single tag I used, then I click on the story.
My eye next goes to the summary.
If the summary is poorly formatted, particularly if it is written in capslock, I often dont even bother reading the story.
If the summary is in a non english language, I am gone.
Honestly, i dont even expand the summary most of the times so use the first like wisely, and treat every following line of a slightly leaser level of import. I believe news papers do this format too so that might help example wise.
If neither of these major triggers occur, begin to read the story.
If I open the story and it is not well formated, not in english, holds smileys or just reeks of bad grammar... I am gone.
The first chapter needs to be engaging as well, as whilst i generally follow the rule to give everything a 3 chapter long benefit of the doubt.
A lot of authors waste these chapters with notes, small chapter sizes and the like.
I recommend a 1500 to 2500 words sized chapter, atleast for your first post. Most people should be sold on your story within the first 1000 words, if you dont succeed in that, then your not approaching the introduction into your story the right way to make people remain interested.
I hope my usage patterns help you figure out what might help your story to succeed. In general tough, its the Picture, Title and Summary, before the first chapter that kill off most of your potential fanbase.
So I recommended looking at what the most popular novels have done, particularly in your genre for those parts, and to try and apply the lessons you gain from comparting with them in figuring out what works for here on wn to gain an audience.
Oh no, u misunderstood me a little. The title is not a mistake;)
Having Judah or judas as book title will be hard for new readers to search, that what I mean. For example, few people will search judah and your book will not pop up. So having generic title names can actually help you;)
It is something like SEO on the internet.
Avidfan if that is her title than she wont be found at all unless she did the tags right.
But definitely a title issue.
Think about it,. Why else is the avarage title something like: Reincarnated in a fantasy world with/as blabla
Its because people look for reincarnated and fantasy a lot.
Single word novel titles dont work at all on webnovel.
The only reason 'the mech touch' isnt lost in the results is because Mech is a major popular tag to search for.
Likewise, you need to repeat your tags in your summary.
Example title: Reincarnated as a Mech Pilot.
Summary example:
Hero always wanted to be a mech pilot, upon reincarnation he gets his wish.
Follow Hero in this militairy Sci-fi as he makes his way through trials and ordeals to prove in the wars that follow... That HE is the best in this epic Science fiction space opera.
Example tags:
Reincarnation Mech Pilot Epic Militairy Sci-fi War Space Mecha wishfulfillment
Im not a star in tags but I recommended you look for the most popular tags used by other the nost popular authors of the same genre and test them out with searches of your own for maximum number of search results.
There are also people who do this as a gig on. freelance websites for a couple of bucks. It is indeed called SEO and there are free courses of availeble if you look for it

Just write and post daily chapters.
Daily posting and make sure you're consistent. But without promoting your work, how would people know that your book exist? Promote it, with all your strength. Put the pride aside, be full shameless but not annoying.
You can also consider posting on another website, the more you did the better. It actually help to attract more readers that normally would have not know that your novel exist.
And like some have said, trading review might works too. At least, get 10 reviews for your novel, this is important. People usually don't take a single glance at novel that don't have any rating, I for one unless I purposely look for it.
Hope the tips I provided help you and your journey ahead. That said, don't give up just yet even if you didn't achieve the success you hopes for. This line of work required patient, and most importantly experience. If your first novel didn't work out, start a new one.
Grind the shit out of it. I'm sure eventually you'll be to write a book good enough that would put a smile on people's faces. Or maybe you prefer to see them suffering? That works too.
Wu_Shao_Ling I recommed the same things as before. Also beware the use of chinese names if you hope to reach a western audience.
In my personal experience it is hard for me to differentiate them from each other because we never or very rarely hear such names in our daily lives which makes it really difficult to follow multiple novels with chinese names. We will confuse everything and everyone with eachother in our heads.
This is why things like pokemon changed the mc's name from Satoshi to Ash for western exports.
Likewise the Title, Image and Summary play a role.
Your summary is using so many line breaks in it that it repels every bone in my body to look at the end of the expansion and see what you actually wrote at the bottom.
It might well be a cultural diffrence in reading preferences and formatting that is at the root of your troubles.
Your novel might well do fantastic on a chinese website instead of an international one like wn.
So I recommend looking at popular novels in your category and see what they do diffrently from you in naming, image and summary to help you appeal to an english speaking audience.
Generally if you do something based on a country and its naming conventions such as chinese or philipino or something like it. People from another country who find your work in english will not know a thing about yours and many references, jokes and nuances are lost on them.
So make sure to keep that in mind too. That most of the sayings you know, most of the jokes, manner of speaking and concepts known to those of your culture wont know them nor recognise them on sight.
Its why most American movies are so simplified, its so they bridge across those gaps in knowledge better to reach an international audience. That is also why the plot is usually reitterated in various ways throughout the movies too and why characters adress eachother by their names more than people do naturally irl.
My first impression of your novel was that it was probably another chinese translation, one that used poor formatting and a dull picture, and that I wouldn't be able to follow the story anyway due to the names.
This is not meant offensively. Its a cultural diffrence in what appeals to each of us. I recommend looking on freelance websites for book cover artists to see what sorts of covers they make, the ones on 5er for example tend to focus on a western audience and would likely appeal more to such readers whilst having the opposite effect on people from asian countries.
Im sure you noticed a simular trend in design choices between Asian websites and European ones for example. The same level of difference exists between each form of media. Its why most large brands hire native commercial agencies to promote their wares instead just placing the same commercial with a voice over in each country
Hope this helps
Septic_Red no idea and I've been doing this site for 2 years.
I suggest you don't bother with statistics. Just focus on writing the story and finish it how you want, if you still have the passion for it.
To be honest, you can research trends and such until you're coughing blood and still might not get anywhere. Digital media is a fickle thing, attracting the shortest attention lifespan from people. So, you mind as well just enjoy the story writing journey.
Septic_Red Happen go me a lot of time. So, what i did was unpost the chapter, edited it, and post is back
Hatake_Shirou
thank you very much for taking your time to write all this. it was very helpful to me and i am trying to fix this problem right now.
Thank you again :)
I think you need book marketing services from a reputable agency, I got my book marketed by amazon publishing central and they increased my book sales by 1200%.
There are multiple factors that play in this.
As mention, the biggest ones are what ever your novel is being seen by people. The other is quality of your own work. The other things you got to keep in mind that, 100k words for 7 months might be considered low. In a personal experience a lot of bigger and medium size authors have 100k in 1-5 months give or take. Their chapters might be smaller but they probably upload more frequently.
Besides all of that, they could had already established fans with their previous works (which would also mean they could take it easy).
My suggestion to you is, the next time when you want to compare, check their previous works (if they have any), how frequent do they write and also try reading couple of chapters and the reviews if there is any.
Do not worry to much either, and always keep in mind that it's not bad to check out other people's work. That's how you learn and expend your knowledge and can also get inspired.
Best of luck to you o/
I did a weekly updates - with more word count, and that didn't help much. When I posted daily, I got notified that I was recommended for "Congrats! Novel Recommended on <Fresh Stories>" At least I saw a slight difference when posting daily compare to weekly posting.
I tried to do more review swaps too. But that's the extent of things.
My book is Chinese - not sure whether it's niche so not a lot of ppl enjoy reading it, since there's no system, cultivation etc. The bit abt grammar too. I really hope to be better with it. Some authors point it out (which I am really thankful for it) but most just leave it at the review which I don't know where is the mistake. I use grammarly but there's still grammar and errors which I keep editing.
Overall though, the statistics still look so flat like a dead fish. Haha ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ yay me

Promoting books is harder - not sure where to even start.
