This way of gaining exp to level up is just cancer as bad as the old exp gain from writing novel reviews, the novel chapter comments are flooded with mindless spam instead of comments/discussion regarding the chapter.
Even with the new way to sort comments based on date/likes it is still an eyesore.
Remove Experience gained from commenting/replying.
How do you expect us to level up then if they remove that?
JanMeng
Easy the exp lost from comments will be split off in to Daily reading +5, Rate translation quality +10 & Catch up on the newest chapter +5.
Peacecraft I would like to second this opinion. As much as I'd like to level up, I'd rather see the comments section of the novels I write to be devoid of asinine comments done just for the sake of exp. I'd rather that they implement a form of exp gain from reading through the chapters themselves, or being able to find grammar and translation errors to submit for approval from editors. Or how about exp gain from different forms of unlocking chapters (ad watch or stones) as well. Make the spirit stones more valuable that way.
Peacecraft mindless spam
They will still spam even without exp. Just look at WW. People back then used scripts to get a place in the F5 sect.
Ebu8b but at the very least they wont get anything out of it. They shouldnt be rewarded for spamming in the first place.
AntiBallisticMayo but at the very least they wont get anything out of it
But they do. They get the satisfaction of being the first or atleast being one of the fastest.
Speech and comments are free. Never filter them. Either good or bad or maybe a troll still it is free fpr all.
Oh i like that
They better be removed. Change them to something like "Read 10 chapters of any novel", "Read 5 latest chapters of different novels", "Read a 'New Released' novel", or "Read a novel of this 'Genre'". Or add special quests like "Read first 10 chapters of this or that novel", or "Add 10 novels to your libray".
This way, it also promotes readers to read more chapters and add more novels to their library.
You know that feel when you have many books in your library and you read at least 20 chapters a day, but the daily quests are like read latest chapter of a single book. Like wtf? Qidian, aren't you supposed to make us read more novels?
Agreed, all these bad comments are so annoying... I didn't bother making an account until my novels started going premium, because I didn't see the point in writing comments. It's all trash.
Peacecraft I totally agree. I had this exact thought today. I'm sure there are other ways that can be used to gain experience points.
Ebu8b
The f5 sect comments at most take 1-5 spots, but the exp sect comments sometimes are ~70% of the comments for a chapter, especially on popular novels.
rennka
Free speech is great, but this just spam solely due to a daily comment/reply being needed for exp gain they defeat the original intention of the rewarded exp - to encourage discussion on that chapter or giving feedback to the translator (I'm hoping that is why QI chose to reward exp for commenting).
Ebu8b but thats as far as it goes. No EXP reward for that. There can only be one FIRST and then none of the "EXP EXP EXP" that flood more than the rest combined.
rennka were not pushing to restrict them. Were pushing NOT to reward them for EXP. We're not rallying for any other cause for it.

I have to agree that they need to find something to replace the exp for commenting. You can look at any major novels comment section and at least 60% of it is spam posts for exp. It ruins the whole point of a comment section for a chapter. It should be comments about the chapter, or the translation.
It is now even worse some people are now spamming 5 star reviews or 3 and half star reviews trying to get exp. Reviews were already being spammed with pointless bots/fanboys already with no one actually doing reviews. It is only getting worse now.
Yes there will always be spam to be the "1st" comment. Like at WW with the F5 sect. But it is nowhere near as bad as the spam currently on this site because of the exp system. It is not even remotely close.
Besides the gain you get from leveling up is so small what is the point of getting a 3rd energy stone? You only get SS for the first one. 12% is the highest you can get for friend invite spam to fake emails. So there is no point going beyond level 4 or 3 currently.
The gain from leveling is so small, one could almost say it's a scam to artificially increase website traffic. That is what I think of it anyway.
AntiBallisticMayo Yeah lets ignore the part I wrote after first. I can assure you that 10 posts would be about F5 sect (or whatever they will call themselves), then 30 posts about how they missed the spot for the F5 or how much they want to join it.
Taking Exp away won't do anything.
Ebu8b The other posters have already expounded on what we wish to convey. I have nothing more to add unless the devs ask me for suggestions on replacements for removing comment EXP. And from the looks of things, you've got nothing else to add, either.
Peacecraft Maybe they could even offer some EXP for every chapter read? They could give it a cooldown timer to prevent page spammers from just breezing through every chapter. This can encourage them to read other novels available in Quidian and find other interesting titles that they would have enjoyed but ignored otherwise?

WonderDuckie one could almost say it's a scam to artificially increase website traffic
I'd certainly wager it serves a purpose for some sort of metric. "Look how popular we are! Our readers are so involved and active that we average x comments per chapter!"
Oh, and to further the ploy, all the forum threads and comments created in response to the spam.
