Yeah, they are blind to the pinned thread stating "March: promote your novel here."

They are blind to existent threads.

The only effective way to get readers from this forum is by replying a request for a specific type of novel. And doing it honestly, and only if the novel really fits what the person is looking for.
Other attempts not only are ignored_ they are considered annoying, deliberate spam, invasive and stupid.

Google pays 85$ per hour. My last paycheck was $8500 operating a hundred hours per week online. My younger brother's friend has been averaging 12k for months currently and he's employed for twenty-two hours per week. I can’t believe however simple it had been once I attempted it out. I will share my secret technique with you guys.

Whenever you see a shameless promotion, just go and rant about it in their reviews and comments. Learning the hard way is the only way to teach people too stupid or arrogant to even bother to read the fcking rules.

Dubstheduke Yeah. It can be annoying. I still remember the times when this forum was nothing but shameless plugging.

Unfortunately we only have one active mod, in one timezone, who isn't Webnovel staff. So she might not be able to see the shameless plugs as they happen.

You can tag her to those posts to make sure she can take care of them as Tomo has suggested.

I hate shamlessly advertise my book I do understand what you are saying, but I understand why people do it I think I have been doing it too not making a form but just posting in please recommend me a nobel to read that's when I do it. But for real when you do t have any friend or a social mediato get people to look at your book, yeah I think that's why so many people do it to try just get someone to at lest hopefully click it and check it out.

Though I do completely understand what you mean.

We all know why people do it.

          They need readers.

          They badly need readers.

I don't know if it happens in your country, but sometimes you are commuting and someone enters the metro or the bus and starts shoving a little card in your hand, sometimes with a candy stapled to it, or it's a sample of their product.

You didn't ask for it, but that card the person pushed against your hand is a letter about how badly they need money. Sometimes they sell a cheap candy or a crappy pen. You don't need it. You don't want it.

It doesn't mean we can't feel their pain and despair. But do you know how awkward is to be forced to take that card?

Not everyone is prepared to give money to strangers or is empathic to their pleas. But they became annoying. Sadly annoying. Most of the time we give the card back with an embarrassed smile. Sometimes these people are kind of sneaky and even, arrogant as if we owe them some help.

It's the most awkward thing because, unless you wish to be called out for being inconsiderate, you MUST be understanding.

I don't wish my colleagues amateur authors forcing their novels on us like people begging for us to buy candy or to give them money.

I don't wish it to anyone.

And, I don't wish to read a novel just because I feel pity for a struggling new author. Do they wish me to read their books because I feel sad for them?

So, everyone begging is not making things easier for anyone, and showing this degree of despair is embarrassing. I really hope new authors can understand that begging for views is not making their book better.

Well, to all in this thread, I don't personally think there is anything wrong with self promotion in of itself. I personally have nothing against it.

What irritates me is that, despite the fact that it is specifically against the rules in this forum (And thus I am not allowed to do it), that people still do it.

I think the most annoying self promotions are those that hide behind deception. 'Oh I can't remember xyz book where such character meets so character', 'Someone help me remember the title of this book', 'hey guys have you read book XYZ? I just found it and it's so good', 'hey I have a friend who wrote this book and I feel like she deserves more attention. ' People are getting creative. You especially know that these folks are aware about the rules of self promotion on the forum because they've taken the effort to make it not look like a self promotion. It's annoying.

I'm reminded of that author who wrote the G* and C S** who kept spamming questions about her novel on the forums as if she was a lost reader looking for that book.

I must admit I thought of making the exactly same thing in the past, but I never had the nerve because it's so obvious and cringy.πŸ™Š
She surely read our threats of recommending random books even when we know it's the frigging G and C* S* book.
She's kind vanished these days. πŸ˜‚

Dubstheduke if it's allowed and not forceful, I also haven't anything against it.
To be fair, the most annoying thing is when a person says : " I like the Legendary Mechanic, please recommend me books like this" and then SHOoAH! "It's my book, The Villainess is A Sub To the Dangerous Prince CEO."
Or, as I recently saw "I want a romcom".
"Okay, Take my heavy fantasy action thriller cultivation novel!"

SrtaA I noticed too πŸ˜‚ we're the forum vigilantes that nobody asked for. And you're not alone in wanting to make such cringey posts because I think at one point we all get the same ideas but then common sense prevails.

                  SrtaA

Yeah I've definitely seen that happening. People don't seem to understand what criteria for a recommendation is. Or perhaps they just don't care. Probably both.
