Where was I wrong I clarified the facts you posted gamblejay.

Karyehs I'm actually really good at writing and English its just I don't understand the depths or limits of what the terms of service cover and what actions I can take once agreeing with them. I'm not a lawyer so I would rather have proper confirmation then going on a whim.

Gamblejay Thanks for answering my question I've been worried for awhile.

It's a two way street too. Your using their platform to publicize yourself and your story. Some folks are already using it to push their Patreon subs.

AzuleX Fact is that 3 lawyers would have 6 opinions and several possible deals. The harder something is for 'you' to understand, the harder any claim could be made successfully in law court. Qidian would at least have top lawyers.

No matter if a contract is even lawfully or if they simply steal from you:

          No plaintiff, no judge.

Normally when making contracts/deals with a big organisation, they at least have a reputation to protect. Even if 'normal humans' are unlikely to succeed in international court against their exclusive top lawyers, the bad publicity would hurt them enough to force them to work with a proper conduct/ethics and not scam and plunder whatever possible...

But things like this aren't really important with Qidians reputation of the last few years. You can 'hope for the best'. It could work.

Qidian fanboys and people who have accepted an contract which made them (un?)lawfully protect the reputation and all possible claims for compensation will tell you what a good girl/platform mistress Qidian is.

People who dislike Mistress Qidian for the past actions and can't trust a girl who sleeps around while asking cash from everyone (including you) and swearing eternal love while claiming that her sleeping around is in your best interest will say you will get pegged.

With the correct fetishes you can enjoy the ride no matter what happens.

Karyehs Brother I'm so confused and worry you might need some help. I just wanted someone to answer me if Qidian can forcefully retain your novel on their site against the authors will! I got it answeres so is it really necessary to continue the conversation?

AzuleX It wasn't really answered. You simply chose to believe one persons interpretation. But at this point I am too lazy to tell you why it is something stupid to do.

Karyehs you know, it probably wouldn't be that difficult to turn a case against Qidian into a class action lawsuit, so the writers may get favored depending on the judge and jury. I think they tend to favor the little guy if they aren't being paid off, and the contract is vague enough.

You are free to do alot of things with your content, but they also have full rights, if your story blows up n gets super popular, enough to make lots of money n get published in hard copy, they have all the rights. They even have the right to censor or modify at their leisure if they want to translate it into Chinese since it falls under:

CKtalon ''modify (which is made solely for the purpose of formatting for display''
Formatting can mean alot of thing, and am not talking about changing fonts, or spacing......

KoraL Qidian s intellectual rights are probably held by a chinese company, any legal battles would be fought in China........... GL with that

Before you talk about having your art stolen, how many Webnovel authors actually finish their damn stories? I've only read TWO finished webnovels and am reading one consistent author's work.

KoraL Jury? Stuff like this probably only exists for some cases inside the USA. In other countries (and international lawsuits) it not practiced having civilists make a vote.

Alone getting a case open with your lawyer and work towards a lawsuit against Qidian would costs several thousands of euro/dollar, while this isn't even guaranteed to go towards a court.

For most people it would simply "not worth it" to try getting a single cent out of Qidian.

Simply by delaying long enough so no normal person has enough money to give a jugde the chance to judge would mean losing the whole initial investment and possible future chances.

                          Knilthas
                          Karyehs

I'm sure if the class action is initiated by an American and the authors participating in the lawsuit are only American, then it can be done in a US court.

The more likely case would be a class action settlement before the case is taken to trial. If the case is big enough, some lawyers would be happy to take a cut of the settlement and consider it probono in the case of a loss.

KoraL Jurisdiction.... So what if some random american judge says something? Why would Qidian care? Really, that judge would overstep his jurisdiction. Even if some judgewould sentence Qidian to millions upon millions... Why would they pay? It's impossible to enforce.

                            american law =/= international law
                            American court =/= international court
