PeacockStudios i just started shadow hack. I'm not sure about super gene though. There were lot of complaints about the translation.
Hidden Gems
For me hidden gems are Pursuing Immortality and Trafford's Trading Club. Mind you, they're very different from most novels recommended here and definitely are not part of the most popular genres.
PeacockStudios I suppose hidden gems isn't too appropriate haha. I'm thinking more of novels I might've overlooked due to inaccurate reviews or bad reviews aiming at problems with the translation that the translators/editors have already addressed. Shadow Hack's always been one of the top on the ranking list and I see a lot of people saying it doesn't really deserve its spot, how is it?
Wolverine_King The Sacred Ruins is amazing.
SuperManGay haven't read any of those aside from Throne of Magical Arcana and Transcending the Nine Heavens. Those are a lot of recommendations, thank you!
Pillar in the sky (nice prose)
Death sutra (next level)
Tales of herding gods (different vibe, funny)
King of gods (cliche but consistent and enjoyable, less cringy than Er Gen)
ShouldBeStudying I like Er Gen's ATTE. Compared to his other novels, it's really light read.
bachingchung i like the comedy. I think it is very good. But ATTE has he same problems as ISSTH and evn worse: very short chapters full of filler and DBZ screams and roars for the smallest thing. And barely something happens. Also Bai Xiachun has a bad mentality for cultivation. He is so afaraid that if not for plot armor he would just stay wherever he is and miss all opprtunities. And annoyngly Er Gen makes it that he always get incredibly lucky and obtains the best for everything, which is clear that by himself he doesnt deserve.
So overall the story is not better than ISSTH
ShouldBeStudying it's a no brainer that issth is better, but there are a lot of arcs with heavy mood setting. I find those arcs hard to binge read coz' it's too sad and vicious. I still prefer an entertaining light read to cheer me up after a tiring day.
bachingchung man the war arcs are the worst of issth

bachingchung Highly Recommend Super Gene, It suites my taste, don't know bout you guys but I think it's def worth reading.
ShouldBeStudying yeah. 200 consecutive chapters of wars. And er gen placed it on the last chapters. Couldn't finish it.
bachingchung for me the worst i remember was the way back from the barbarian wasteland on home planet
ShouldBeStudying yeah. The death march arc was tormmenting, followed by the violet sea. 150 years for just another tattoo.
bachingchung ik right? His cultivatiom speed was so damm fast. I think he was just 300 years by then and then waists 150 just to form a fifth of the requirements for nascent soul formation.
And then when everybody sees he is not dead they are still so schocked by his cultivation speed. How would they be if he didnt waist so much time and went through life and death moments to form a nascent soul by then...
I really enjoy

I'm always laughing when reading it.
Plundering the Heavens is another one that's always good for some laughs
bachingchung don’t pay attention to that. It’s mostly people complaining about the drop from 3 chaps/day to 2. The story is one of the best and what I spend my power stones on.
