As a sucker for naruto/one piece fanfiction, those tend to be plagued by harem, some start off with really good stuff, good writing, world building, character building and stuff...
but the moment they introduce a harem, i sometimes give it a chance, but every time i regret it.
Sad, it's usually those deprived fckrs that read it.
Well, those authors generally have no romance experience, so it's to be expected that the harems are built badly. They have almost no commom sense, so they think the MC just need to be handsome and powerful for women to accept being in a harem instead of a normal relationship.

A woman would feel as you would if your partner suddenly decided to have a harem of men instead of being satisfied with just you. Would she really love you in this case?

But it's not like a harem relationship is impossible to happen with real-world logic. It's just excessively complicated to make it acceptable for both parties, it would be a mess of feelings and thoughts. How many people have what is necessary to write a "good" harem situation? Even I, as an author, find it one of the most difficult things to write. It's better to write about a character with multiple love interests but without anything solid, since they wouldn't accept it easily. I can't even fathom how to make it acceptable for the characters and how to develop their messed feelings.
It's no wonder most of the Korean novels' harems are generally elusive and end up being false since the authors there do have a bit more common sense. The authors get cowardly and decide to give up making a harem mid-way, disappointing the readers there for a harem.

Well, the sentence "Harem is Trash" are actually true and false in the same time.
I admit that most of the harem story that we could find are trash. And too little harem story had good quality.
Most reader upset that their "perfect" story has become trash because they have harem in it. And the same thing could also happen when some reader are questioning that their story did not harem in it but why is it still trash/not a good story.
So this diss-ing are acceptable. Carry on please.
