The main topic of our new writing contest shall be ## reincarnation.

Reincarnation means to obtain a second chance at life.

Just imagine, what would you do if you could live your life all over again?

There are endless possibilities about reincarnation.

There are many different types of reincarnation stories.

1） The first type has the main character reincarnate back into his/her past self.

This is typically a story set in modern times, with the main character being a person from modern times. He or she might have either an ordinary life or an extraordinary one, but it will definitely be filled with certain regrets.

In that case, just imagine – what if your main character meets with some accident (such as being murdered by someone), or simply after going to sleep, he discovers that he’s returned to the past when he’s seventeen years old, or to his childhood, or to one day before he got married, or to one day before starting his first job? In that case, what choices will he make when faced with this familiar life yet new life with a second chance?

2） The second type is that the main character is reincarnated into someone else.

The main character could reincarnate to become some famous historical figure. For instance, the main character could wake up to find himself as Leonardo Da Vinci, and that he’s currently drawing the Mona Lisa. Or, perhaps he’s become the young Van Gogh, Newton, or Ramanujan.

Perhaps your main character reincarnated into a minor actor who’s currently about to audition for the famous movie “Titanic”. Or, maybe your main character reincarnated into a rich young lady who just happened to get acquainted with Coco Chanel in the early days of starting her business and really needing capital… Or even reincarnating to become Elizabeth Bennet’s older sister Jane from “Pride and Prejudice”…

Or, your main character could reincarnate into an ordinary person. For instance, a small merchant in the Renaissance, a sailor on Christopher Columbus’s ship, an infantry soldier in World War 2, an ordinary American high school student from the 1990s, or any unknown fictional character.

Or, your main character could even reincarnate to become someone in an entirely fictional world, filled with fantasy and magic or the mystical and cultivation, beginning a new life there.

Just think about it. What type of brand-new life will you live if you suddenly become someone else?

What will you do after reincarnating?

Reincarnating typically means that someone will begin a new life together with all their old memories.

That’s why the greatest advantage that a main character in a reincarnation story has is ## “predetermined knowledge”. These main characters possess the ability to foresee events that will happen in the near future. This advantage can be used by the author to make up for the main character’s past regrets, to succeed at business and become rich, or change the course of history. Something as simple as remembering some sports teams’ victories and buying betting tickets is one really easy way for your main character to become rich.

Of course, you could also write countless interesting scenarios in your reincarnation novel.

For instance, if your main character returned to the age of seventeen, how about making him/her attempt to romance their first love that they missed the opportunity to make a connection with?

What if your main character returned to the 1970s? Perhaps he could join Apple in its infancy and work with Steve Jobs.

How about if your main character reincarnates to become a mathematician in the Renaissance? What if he writes Newton’s Laws of Motion before Newton was even born, pushing forward the development of physics?

In conclusion, there’re endless possibilities for reincarnation stories. There’s no need to give yourself any limits. Freely utilize your imagination and create an incredible story!

How to join

When you create your new novel, you can choose any genre that you wish. Then, the writing contest options will appear. Choose the [Writing Prompts Contest #1: Reincarnation] option in order to participate in this contest.

Rules

1. The main topic of your novel should be the reincarnation genre. Otherwise, it shall be treated as an invalid entry.

2. Your story entered in the contest must be your own original work, with the copyright held by you. No plagiarism is allowed.

3. The contest will take place from July 16th, 2018 to July 22, 2018 (GMT +8).

4. The story must not contain any racial or religious discrimination against any other cultures or their lifestyles.

5. Only newly-created original novels shall be allowed to enter the contest.

6. Webnovel reserves the right of final interpretation for all stories submitted in this contest.

Prizes

For the top-ranked original novels submitted in this story writing contest, the prizes shall be as follows:

The 1st-3rd ranked original novels will be recommended on the front page.

Won't this be the same as RTW fanfiction, where the novels which were already reincarnation trope and novels which were being publicized in another novel had unfair advantages

Flow07 The winner would be those with "bots" or "clones voter" or perhaps another "Bai" clones. The sad part was this would add "dropped" novels to the originals. This would be a bad timing for "real" author to publish their novel. If you have good novels. Save it! Pick a better date to publish. I personally intentionally avoided the RTW contest before publishing my novel, since it was too crowded with spam novels in the new original novel section.

If you want to win. Here is the key add Naruto/OnePiece/(other popular thing) and System add some inspiring thing like Harem System, Reverse Harem System, Sex System if you are bold. Necromancer System, Ai System, Gravedigger System, or (some unique) system. Those things would guarantee success.

For example: Reincarnated as Naruto with Super Sex System. It is impossible if you don't win some male's votes. If you want to target a female audience. Reincarnated to Naruto world with Love System - Between Sasuke or Naruto. The story would be romantic genre in which the cold Sasuke and perverted Naruto would compete for the young girl love. (Perhaps a better anime should be chosen).

If this contest was aimed to add more good original novels, a certain words long requirements must be added. In example: Minimum 50.000 words long. This isn't hard since it was at most 25-50 chapters. At best 1-2 arcs.
