  • This makes no sense, Why does it Cost me $20 to read for 4 hours on this site?

So I just spent another $20 on a novel, and just realized I have only read for four hours and I ran out of SS. . . . this makes no sense, and QI is blatently ripping me off. four hours of reading, is like 20% of a regular book length (for my reading speed). So, it costs $100 per book on QI???? the fuck.

DarkImmortal_Intel invite friends for 88 SS. If you have no friends, make your own. Ezpz.

If the choices above is still a hassle for you, read slower I guess?

MissMii that actually works as well. I have a lot of books with 1k+ free chapters available already, so I tend to save a week's worth of daily SS.

There are also 2 completed novels available for free this week. So it would be best to make use of those rare promos.

I didn’t complain about the spirit stones at first as it was only supposed to be 10 chapters ahead that we’re premium but now they all are. Started reading release that witch until I realized the last 200 chapters are all premium. At 9 spirit stones per chapter that’s 1800 spirit stones just to catch up. That’s ridiculous. Qidian is trash and if they didn’t have a monopoly I would never go to this site. They are more corrupt than the enemies in their wednovels.

I'm actually curious to see if they may offer a membership fee for the premium novels that you pay a certain amount per month for access to the locked chapters instead. It would take a lot of tweaking so they can be sure to not rip off their employees but I'd gladly pay a monthly fee rather than pay x amount for some stones

It's honestly sad too. Remember when people were defending Qidian and said it wouldn't have a paywall?

People even said that WW was lying about this, which is even sadder because without the creator of Wuxiaworld, I can guarantee that Chinese web novels would not be as popular as they are. The only reason why Qidian is able to acquire licenses is because it has more money than these free websites, then hiring higher incentives to the translators of these free sites.

I buy loads of Ebooks and it typically costs $6ish per book (that's my max price range when I buy online, otherwise I buy paper backs in physical stores near me). So I'm not exactly sure why I have to pay nearly $100 for an Ebook on this site. Is QI trying to model there profits like a college campus's overpriced hardcopy book? (if that makes any sense. Aka, college books are about as expensive as QI atm). lol

A college book you'll hardly use... since most of the things can be found and studied online except of course for those workbooks where you answer stuff relentlessly. And yes... I feel you, try to make alt accounts for reading man. No matter how much you make 20$ is still 20$ and you'll bleed yourself dry if this goes on, Unless of course if you're some rich young master or some self made millionaire. If that is the case fund me so I can study chickens... =))

Daoist_N I noticed that just today thanks to your comment. I used stones to read RTW and then stopped because since they are expensive I waited for some chapters to become "old" and then released as free chapters, but now here I am with 30 chapters behind and no clue of when this is going to happen.

I thought older chapters were unlocked and only the newer ones needed stones(or at least that was how I heard it was going to be), thus I was waiting for that, but if you have the last 200 chapters locked then it means they will no longer release the old chapters for free. Such amount of chapters means more than two months of chapters restricted by a paywall. So I decided to limit my readings to one novel only, and that won't be RTW even if it pains me(too many stones needed for the 30 chapters and soon to be 31). With the free daily stones they give I can read at least the two new chapters of a novel just fine.

I also was reading HJC and discovered that the last third of the novel was put into paywall too, I finished chapter 680 before that and then woke up to see I need 28 stones to read 681... you surely jest, it might had a lot of text but I don't like that novel enough to pay such amount for one chapter, so I'll just drop it (didn't like the harem anyway, he should have just kept Bing'Er and Tian'Er and didn't like that the former was just "kidnapped" like half the lenght of the novel). Not sure if the novel was free for a limited time or something.

How about you make dummy accounts to relieve your problems. 5-10 accounts should be able to finish a novel in a few days. Though I never encountered that problem since I only read two novels that are premium.

Daoist_N They never said it was only going to be 10 chapters. But when people started pointing that out, they got insulted. Literally everyone said that QI was good and premium was awesome and that it was never going to be a paywall, and that WW and anyone who doubted QI was just jealous and stupid.
They even promised we were never gonna see a paywall...
            Look what happened now.

Daoist_N You still got 900 chapters for free though. If you think 1100 chapters for 1800 spirit stones, that's a good price. If you wait longer, it'll only get cheaper.
