Why do the chapters get lock?!!..this is my first time here and besides paying to get unlock what else can you do?!?

I think that’s the issue. I also unlocked the chapters with SS, and when I saw a thread for this, I checked and my unlocked chapters are still unlocked, and I assumed it’s because I’m a premium user.
My guess is they stayed unlocked for premium users after the promo ended. If you’ve never purchased SS, the chapters will probably get locked again.
If you’re premium users and it got locked again, i guess Webnovel needs to clarify
Nyria1325 It’s a premium system. Premium novels require you to use spirit stones to unlock chapters so that translators and editors can get paid when you purchase more spirit stones.
If you do not want to purchase spirt stones, you can get free spirit stones by
1. voting using the energy stones (
) in the “what’s next” section. You get to vote for the next novel to be released. As you level up, the amount of energy stone you get increases. Your very first vote gives you 5 SS. Only one vote counts towards getting the SS.
2. voting using the power stones (
) for your favorite novels to go up in rank. Also, only the first vote gives you 5SS.
3. if you’re using the app, you can go under the profile tab and click on “earn rewards” to watch a video. You get a random amount of SS from 6-15 after the video ends. It’s a random draw.
4. checking in daily also gives you a random amount of SS.
5. By inviting friends. When you send an invite to friends and they successfully open a webnovel account using your invite, you get between 88-102 SS depending on which level you are.
Note that spirit stones you earn this way expire after 30days. If you end up saving SS to use for the future, make sure you use them before the 31st day of when you received them. You can check the expiry time of spirit stones by clicking on the number of spirit stones displayed in the profile tab. It will bring it your deposit and consumption histories.
For long lasting spirit stones, you can purchase. Purchased spirit stones do not expire. You get bonus spirit stones when you purchase. Bonus spirit stones expire after 90days.
QueenCL sorry, promo for what? and how do i know if i'm a premium user or not? the novel that i talk about, it got like 500-ish chapter (from 102-645) got lock, the rest until the end it remains unlock.

That's why are asked of you were a premium user.
That was just a hypothesis. It might be that chapters become locked again for non-premium users or it might be a bug.
During some TGIF events, completed premium novels become completely unlocked for a certain period of time. Once that period is over, they become locked starting from chapter 101, and they are excluded from the 1chapter per day release.

and funky_monkey as they announced that some novels would be made completely free for 2 weeks before all the chapters get locked and you have to re unlock them
You can provide an SS so they re unlock it for you
Which honeslty sounds pretty stupid and make the reader go an extra mile to read a novel
And the relocked novels have no free chapters, all chapters are locked unless they decide to unlock them, this really gonna kill the novels as they wont get posted on Novel updates as it goes against their policy

If ypu really used a SS to unlock a chapter, but the chapter turned locked you should complain. However check QueenCL and K_O_KID answer first.
QueenCL i seriously (at this moment, still not graps the meaning of becoming premium user, forgive me, n pliz don't get bored at me). but the novel that i talked about, get lock in the middle like 101-645 chp, the rest is unlock. so, i don't know why it happen.

A novel that requires you to unlock chapters with spirit stones without giving you an option to watch an ad is a premium novel. To become a premium user, all you need to do is purchase spirit stones.
If the novel you’re talking about is a completed novel, my guess is that the novel was featured in a past TGIF event where all the chapters were unlocked by Webnovel for 2weeks. After 2weeks, the novel goes back to being premium and all the chapters will be locked again starting from chapter 101.
The reason why I made a guess that it might be an issue for non-premium users is because I didn’t experience that with my completed novels, and I’m a premium user. My premium completed novels (both were unlocked for two weeks for TGIF) are still unlocked, but when I log off and access the site, the novels are locked from chapters 101.
From past forums, I think you’ll need to present your SS history of unlocking the chapters for the novel you’re asking about to a Webnovel rep. Then they’ll unlock the chapters for you.

funky_monkey Everyone who has been reading MMORPG has been hit the most because the paywall is fairly big.
What happened is that the paywall negates any free unlock that occurred previously. Someone mentioned that premium for MMORPG didn't happened for this series until further on, yet QI locked the chapters.
So if you didn't use any SS to unlock those chapters past the paywall, they are locked.
That announcement didn't say the previously unlocked chapters would be locked except first 100, that's beyond retarded, may aswell have the option to buy the whole book.
QueenCLif i had purchased spirit stones, then i'm a premium user? (sorry, just want to make it clear for me). i had purchaed the spirit stone to unlock the lock chapter of the novel that i read.
i've read all the chapter before TGIF unlock the novel for free read.
just one novel in my library that had kind of problem. the other completed novel, it doesn't. so i'm confused.

I can't believe no one is complaining about the huge paywall. Locking over 700 chapters on a 12-15ss per chapter book will cost over 9000ss. That's over 150$ to read one book lol. Glad I read the rest during that 2 week period. The book started off good but went down hill real fast.
Xavier2430 lol people complained about this on HJC and nothing still happened. This paywall system is pretty much discouraging because it's expensive.
That's why you've been seeing people advising others to go join a clone sect.
funky_monkey you're going to take it up with the devs if none of the chaps that you unlocked with ss are unlocked. Unfortunately, people have been on the losing side of this matter because the SS history shows which ones you unlocked (even though, tbh, you can't tell if the system had bugs or not because a ton of these changes in the website were unannounced)
