  • Independent writers will not start writing things that almost no one reads, especially if they want to make a living from it. Unfortunately, that's the way it is

  • A compromise would have to be made, one review per week would already be a good thing. You also have to give readers some freedom, otherwise they will just go elsewhere.
And then boosting is something that no one can stop, if the person who does it really wants to do it, there will just create double accounts on the site to go spam

    • Writing takes time and it's back in, so I guess he just stopped because he was going to be far too busy to keep his story going at the rate he kept it going for 2 months.
      Then it's just speculation.

The xp system is fine, but like everything, it's "bad" at the same time. WebNovel wants to be like a kind of video game. They build user loyalty by raising their level and rewarding them better over time, much like in the stories with Cultivation in their tags.
If they delete that, they will lose some of their users and moreover the new readers and authors will have no reason to stay, because the site will have nothing different from a site like Wattpad or others.

        • Yes, so you are dealing with a story of the type: poor quality both in writing and in scriptwriting, with 250 chapters, all with spelling mistakes, but with a contract with Qidian. I think you have to take this with a grain of salt e_e

In four years of writing I have seen this very often, those who write more and faster are the most successful.
So even if the quality of the story is shitty, this story will have more visibility than any other. And to get even more visibility, what do we do? We delete all reviews below 3.5 stars.

Why would WebNovel punish that? It's all good for them. If more people come to read thanks to the note: 4.6 for exampe, then more people come and use their spirits stones.
Same thing with the original authors; WebNovel will not punish them when they are possible gold mines.
We're not going to lie to each other, WebNovel may be one of the best sites for writers all over the world, but it's still a money factory.

        • Tomoyuki
Yeah, it's also a way for them to fight original authors who set up Patreons. Because generally the Patreons have as first arguments: the mass chapter realease (so quantity and not necessarily quality, that's what WebNovel does with 14 chapter stories per week), and generally, the 2nd argument of the Patreons is that people who pay, can read in advance compared to everyone.
In other words, everything is good for making money. That is what the privilege chapters are.

That's because you see people's bullshit and everyone spits on each other, that's why xD

Pastafarianism is a parody of religion, not a true religion. Basically, God is a spaghetti with two meat balls, so well... Taking that as an example is not really valid.
After that I have to admit that creating an Isekai story with this "religion" would be fun and refreshing, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the story of @MAKKAPATI .
So yes, we no longer talk about the same thing at all.

            • Um... at first I didn't really want to post here, it looks like a little bit of a contest from the one who will have the biggest, but well, I get caught up in the game î_î

For my first story, I saw 84k views for 700 collections all set. So it's 1:120, not too bad, it seems to me.
For the second, 100k view for 552 collections is 1:181.

After that, for now, my only two stories are stories that work what's in guys' pants, if you know what I mean...
To see when I post one of my more serious stories.

Oh, really? oO I think it's very expensive, it's work, OK, but hey... 1k word for $25... that's $25 for not even two pages. Basically, to write a book of 200k words, it costs a minimum of 5000$. Erh... it still hurts the wallet, at this price you might as well write it yourself, especially since WebNovel are more generally stories with no real end. So it could get more expensive. If you really want to have people making proposals, you should make regressive rates (maybe you already do, in these cases nvm). However, Makka would have to know the length (roughly speaking) of his novel, like in 3, 4 volumes or say the number of words that his story should make (roughly speaking).

              • Deliverer Or can I contact you when I have a certain amount of chapter, like 10? So you can get your first opinion on the story... I think '-'
I have 24 old chapters (54k words) but I don't think they're good enough, so I'm working on them again.

                • Deliverer - So you want stories already written or in progress? Because I have the impression that you ignore stories that don't have many chapters x) Actually, story with all these criterias, I didn't find much story, it's a little precise. Some of the translated novels may please you, but well, I doubt their qualities...

                  • Deliverer
Hey î_î I have a story that is being written, but I still hesitate to post it, it fits into all the themes you have put. I've been working on it for over three years. Would you like to be some kind of beta tester? I can send you two chapters in the afternoon.
Here is the little premise of the story: "Black and white merged in this ocean of shadows. No sound, no light, but a silhouette was slowly approaching a breach that was crossing this disturbing sea.
It was a young man's body, he was lying down. He was asleep. Eyes wide open. The reflection of the breach through his pupils."

If you want the tags, you just have to ask for them. I also have some drawings for this story (my profile photo is one of the drawings).
I can give you information about the story, the storybuilding, the map I created, but if I do all this, I just expect you to be transparent on it, I trust you.

If you're ever interested, here's my Discord: Shinoera#1768

                  • BabyJeezus - Here, on WebNovel it's mandarin, but if you want to learn japanese you can read Visual Novel, some webnovel on other sites and Light Novel. It's up to you to know what you want î_î

                    • Tomoyuki - Yes, but I doubt that person's willingness. Accepting such a poorly developed project is never really good, even more so when the scenario looks like many other Isekai/reincarnation of the genre. Maybe it'll work, but I have my doubts about that.
In any case, I hope he really gave details to this person who wants to write for him. But hey...

                      • MAKKAPATI - I hope you realize that it's not going to make people want to write your story x) it's like giving a chef a recipe to make, but you're not giving him the names of the ingredients to make his recipes.
Either the meal will be disgusting, or the presentation will be horrible, or the chef will improvise and make his own recipe.
Of course you don't force people, but I don't really see how you can have serious proposals if the argument you give is:

MAKKAPATI looking for a person interested to write a isekai story based on minimal info I give

I'm not asking for the entire story, but at least the main points, such as the Acts of a theatre play. That's usually how stories are cut now.
The question we should have asked from the beginning should have been: How many chapters do you think your story haves?
If you don't know, you can't really make a "contract" with someone, or the story will drop at some point. If it's too long, don't wait to have someone for free either, after all, every job deserves a salary. In other cases, people may then be interested.

                        • Instead of both of you getting angry because neither of you can understand what the other is saying, that's what you should do:
For you @MAKKAPATI you should write with a few words, like a shopping list, what you find interesting and what you think is not so good in your story.
For you @Tomoyuki, you should do the same by simply putting words or short sentences on what is good and not so good in his story.
It would be easier than making 750-word blocks x) because you are going around in circles. And then you argue, because this is a little messy for the moment.

                          • MAKKAPATI
To be perfectly honest, it may be rude, but I don't really find the little "summary" of the story attractive. I know it's only a brief summary, but I'll explain anyway; I'm not here to be mean or anything, so please don't trash-talk x)

So, for the MC, being a neuroscientist makes him an intelligent and very busy person. It's a passionate profession, an explorer of the human being (BAC +8). So being addicted to two things next door is almost impossible. But making him a person who occupies his little free time with reading and/or animes, I agree. I have more of a feeling that you're trying to make the MC a character that looks like an otaku, because you know it can be successful, but being otaku and neuroscientist don't really fit together. The best thing is to assume your originality and make him a character in his own right and not a character in which everyone can identify themselves.
I'm not going to give my opinion on transmigration/reincarnation and the Isekais are genres, and I like them, you just have to know how to manage it.

Then, used scientific "technology" to transmigrate to another world.... that not really related to the work of the MC. He is a neuroscientist, trying to understand how the brain works, for example, he studies the brains of people with Alzheimer's or schizophrenia and studies the results to better understand these mental illnesses. There's nothing technological about that. So from then on, the story will already start to make no sense, especially since I don't see, even if there were access to this technology, how he could use the machines without knowing them and even less on his own. And the fact that he wants to leave his world because he's annoyed just seems to me to be a facility for the story to begin. I'm sure you can find something interesting, for example, he's a scientist, so he likes discoveries, right?

The fact that there is no magic capacity is something that has already been seen but that remains interesting, if he develops his magic it's even better. But how does he manage to bring all the technological equipment from Earth? It's not like he's going to get the whole thing delivered.

I have the impression that you just had an idea and wrote it here without doing any research, which isn't the best thing. Of course you can find someone to write this story, but it's not up to the person who will write to create the whole script and fill in the gaps and problems in the script. Everyone has to do their part.
If you ever make that effort and work again, I maybe I able to write this story.

I hope at least I helped you :)
