  • Here is my life advice: Never trust people for what they say, only for what they do. It sounds easy but it's not. When people need you they will always act friendly, but when you need them, that's when real friends show up. If someone is not there for you in time of need there's no excuse. Do not hesitate to dump a so-called gf or friend. Life is short, don't waste it finding excuses for those who do not care for you. It's better to be alone than be surrounded by fair weather friends.
Love advice: If you meet someone special you can even half-way tolerate, sink your nails in and never let go.

  • StenDuring yeah, i meant romance for female readers, not males. Seems female readers, easterns and westerns alike like bad boys, that was my point.

    • Tyramisu don't read september 9 or whatver is its name. The ML is such a psycho that the beautiful disaster's one is an angel in comparison XD

      • StenDuring
not entirely true. I remember a few years ago an awful YA female oriented called Beautiful disaster, and something called september 9 or smth. Both the stories have the classic super extra gorgeous FL, and the ripped, sexy handsome (full blown psycho) ML. Both books depicted what imo is an abusive relationship, and afaik had their fair amount of success. Ime, many girls love the "bad boy" because in their fantasies they will be able to change/redeem him. It doesn't work in books, let alone irl. An abusive man stays abusive, period.
As for cliches, it's a matter of how you use it. If you do the cookie cutter stuff everyone does, they are terribad. But you can always turn them in something new. EG: codex alera by jim butcher purposedly (author's words) took two extra cheesy plot elements (pokemon and the lost roman legion) and tried to make a good book out of it. Imo it failed big time, but not because of the cliches. The take Butcher had on pokemon/furies and roman empire were great, the problem lied in a horizontal plot forced af (all chars from emperor to MC are retarded and follow the author's script like mindless drones, totally unbeliavable) and the power building beyond saving (in codex alera the furies/pokemon are too common and yet super OP. In a realistic story it would be a chaotic "might makes right" world, simply beacuse they are too powerful and there is no defense from furies, none at all. Once again, in codex alera things work just because the author says so)

        • simple and naive are banned too. don't ask me why

          • MishaK imo "good money" should be at least = income from a full time job. otherwise is just extra pocket money :)

            • Alaheeza honestly Idk. there are a lot of variables.
First: how good are you with english? cuz if your grammar is bad or you do not find it easy to write fluently in english, being recognized is quite difficult. Also it will take a lot of time for you to write a single chapter.
So far, in my experience, unless you take it as a hobby, it takes much more than it gives. as VeronicaP3 said, is good if you want to establish a fanbase/exposure. Otherwise....

              • Another really annoying thing ins Cult novels is how lazy authors get a waifu to the MC. Either is a fated meeting that yet is identical to one of the 100 thousands damsels he saves, or my most disliked trope: find a martial legacy, but is dual cult, so when he finds it, ofc the other one is a beautiful, etc etc female, and they are forced to have s*x or die horribly, and from that point they are a couple. I find it honestly sad. It happens in martial peak, wu dong quiang and so many others. I mean, wtf author san! you make MC find and befriend hundreds of "word class beauties" (sic!) yet to get laid he has to be forced in a do or die situation?!

              • GreatSage_Master1 trending, daily, new etc, is just like a lottery. Everyone can get picked (happened to me before signing the contract more than once).
To appear in the recommended or bannered, tho, that's only for contracted authors.

              • trekt just my 2 cents man, but an MC who is able to do in 3 months and with his bare hands alone what whole nations could not despite cream of the crop geniuses and no budget limits, that becomes 3 times straight the world champion of a 8 person team sport despite playing solo, that makes more money with his programming in a month than anyone does in a lifetime, is OP af. Then I could tell you how after his mother dies he doesn't give af for 3 years, does not spend a single moment with his father, refuses to hug her "aunt" that works her ass off for him because and I quote "It's not my mother", and then when the academy they ask him about his mom, he then remembers he had one and fffffffffffffff cries!!!! That moment made me puke blood. I read all the first book before dropping it.

                • trekt dude, no. Daedalus has good english but that's it. MC is the epitome of gary stu, but imo the worst thing is tha the writing style is sterile, you could not care less for the char, their emotions feel fake and forced. Is barely worthy a 2/5

                  • happened bc WN has too few moderators and too many users did hate/troll/exp reviews. Is a necessary evil.
