veinglory well poteto potato, if it's as you say, then why the rush to bring more novel? why the rush to facilitate new author? they should think about expanding when they have enough fanbase, if we as first bach of subscriber should shoulder their expenditures, wouldn't they would ransacked tons of money when their fanbase growth rapidly? while we as the side that shoulder the most got nothing? wouldn't you agree the 3 side (webnovel, author or translator and first bach subscriber) should shoulder their expenditure equally? if they truly lack funding, why swallow more than they can chew? hilarious how they want dominate webnovel translation scene without proper 'funding'
wouldn't you agree your argument only benefiting their side without thinking about our side as the one who gave them 'funding'
the real example swallowing more than you can chew
stop wasting your time brother, if they truly lack of funding they can deploy tons of ways to get it, such as using proper ads here and there or advertising their app more to rope more user, but raising price and decreasing benefit for their loyal member was a shallow move with lack of insight (welp i hope the new subscription scheme didn't goes like this, we'll see)

veinglory wrong, they took a gamble and it pays off, while WN don't want to took a gamble, any new company should expect to make a loss first, it's not about resources, it's about whose got a bigger guts and balls, expecting gains without loss is just a wishful thinking, netflix did that for their images and to build a strong fanbase foundation, so when some country banned them, their fanbase would do the dirty work for them, while WN did this, tarnishing their own images and ruinning their fanbase foundation, their first customer, their early users, their loss would be humongous

ZanySphere that's what i'm saying, the most trending novel would get a ton of ss while the new comer would get non, they can't even compete fairly bcoz everyone will use their chance to read something they already like, in the end the new comer never have a real platform to grow, it's capitalism all over again
moreover i'm confuse woth the announcement
it says there's an increase on number of subscribers, many detectable raise og income on authors, while a decrease of income on SOME authors (i think it's not decreasing but STABILIZING)
this data obviously shows how successful the elite subscription system was..
is it not?
let me leave my foot stamp here, i'm indonesian by the way
peace, love, and gaul
klmorgan @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL i disagree with you, bcoz for me, elite subscription makes me want to read new novel from new writer that i don't normally trust with my SS, bcoz some of us didn't want to read new novel from new author bcoz we didn't want to feel betrayed when the story get really boring in the middle, or the character development became monotonous (it's feels like WTF happen? my SS gone bcoz of this???)
on the other hand the former subscription system gave the reader this confidence to try reading new novel, instead of max chapter per month system, honestly i personally will go back to read the novel i like without bothering any new writer, and truthfully i really hate that.
instead of this system, why didn't qidian use viewer count system as a bonus for the writer? the more ID that view the chapter the more bonuses for said translator or author??
the last system was not failed, the problem laid on the distribution of income is it not?? so fix that instead
20$ subscription for an unfinished book is expensive enough, it's not subscription system fault, but your internal system fault, come on man how can you increase your user count if you're not user friendly
