I don't hate webnovel or anything but I was curious if there are any other writing platforms out there that offer weekly competitions and promotions like webnovel does with a good reader base.

Swapping with only the first 2 people. I give detailed reviews on whatever I review, of course with honesty. I'll only review the first 2 replies to this thread. I might consider others if I feel like it. However, please review this book in turn (No guilt trip reviews either because I won't fall for it) Thanks!
Edit: Will accept another 2.

GodTian I strongly don't recommend trying to become a full-time author here. You don't get paid all that much unless you make it to like one of the top spots. And even then, I wouldn't know what to say to you because I don't know how much they make. But to put it simply, I believe you should look for other ideas on the side. Not trying to ruin your momentum but I'm just telling you from my experience as a contracted author here. Only pursue something here if you have the determination to see it through to the very end. Just don't place all your eggs in one basket

So, I've just been looking at Webnovel as a whole and I'm curious to know if they've had a decline in their reader base. I remember when I first joined this platform. I wrote a book called Human Cultivation and it was promoted quite a few times. Whenever it was promoted, it would get up to 10k views and up to 100-400 collections each time.
Recently, I've had 2 other novels promoted and didn't receive a single collection lol. You could argue that maybe the books weren't interesting enough to grab readers but when you look closely, I didn't receive a single view on either of them despite being promoted. So my question is, is Webnovel on a decline because that would be sad
Makes sense. Thanks for the feedback
So I'm confused about something and I kinda need answers lol. So, I will see new books that release like 10-40 chapters and they'll have a decent amount of collections ranging from 30 to 200. Some of these books have only been out for a week and they'll have like 50 collections with only 10 or 20 chapters out. But I've been writing for like 2 weeks now with 26 chapters overall. I do daily uploads, try my best with content and synopsis, and I also have a decent cover, yet I only have 12 collections. So I just wanted to know if I'm missing something as to why some books gain such a quick reader base in the blink of an eye while a few others struggle. I don't know if it's that the majority thinks my content is boring or something along those lines which is why I receive such few collections but I just wanted an answer to this cause I'm lost x. x.
Tips would be appreciated
DaoistzyN7zW Honestly, my opinion alone wouldn't be enough to cover such a large topic. However, I would consider it bad when the author doesn't push him/herself to do better. You should always be willing to improve. But there's one thing I've learned while writing. If you don't like your novel then there's a good chance that others won't as well. You need to have the confidence to believe what you're writing is good. It starts from there.
Surbhi_mithil It's literally been 3 days now... I do hope you're not one of those ppl who take the reviews then don't do theirs. Especially after I made an exception to make you #6 when I said I'd stop at 5. I'll give you another day or I'll delete my review on your book.
It's simply best not to give up. You won't always get things perfect at the first time, especially with writing unless you're some type of prodigy. A lot of ppl have to do revamps and restart their novels to get them to work. It can be a pain but you need that will and determination to not allow the lack of attention quality to keep you down. Keep going and working on your novel and it should become better over time.
Surbhi_mithil Hi, I've been waiting on your review. Just a reminder
Surbhi_mithil Okay, I'll accept you as #6...
J_Titan You're #5. Sorry it's taking this long. I'll get to you in a bit. Just got some stuff to do then I'll definitely get back to you
Sheizzcoldasice Done for you
Will be reviewing everyone's. Might take a bit given the number of ppl
Subtorren Awesome, appreciate it. I don't mind reviewing a book for you as well if you have one
Retsag Hey, it says your link is unavailable. I'll try going to your profile but if that doesn't work you're going to need to send a new link
Lovelydaisy Finished
Lovelydaisy I can swap with you. Here's mine:
https://www.webnovel.com/book/the-vial-of-hypnos_23365139006300905This is my first time doing this which is why it's a major pain... But I'm a late entry to the WSA and need reviews. I'm too lazy + too caught up with work to review more than 5 books so I'll only review the first 5 who reply as best as I can. If others reply after that then I might consider swapping with them... Idk... Depends on how energetic I feel. And please don't try to guilt-trip me by telling me you reviewed mine and that I should review yours too after I've done the first 5. I'll skip you... It's too much of a pain, seriously... Anyway, my book's called The Vial Of Hypnos and only has 16 chapters atm. You don't have to review all the chapters because that could be a pain for you as well. Only go past chapter 3 if you feel like it. Not that I expect most of you to even go that far anyway since you're all in this for your selfish gains but that's fine. Just be honest with your review is all I ask.

I'd recommend looking for examples on google.
Also, try using emotionally descriptive language. Try making the reader feel like they're there with the character experiencing what he's going through. Use comparisons and slow-paced words that build up to something greater. Not sure if you understand what I'm trying to say but if not use google
