  • How do you squeeze your time reading you favorite webnovel while writing?

I used to read so many c-novels that involved transmigration, rebirth or strong female lead and that helped motivate me to start my own novel. Once I started writing, I slowly lost interest in reading (down side 😭😭😭). But I usaully give up novels after 150+ chapters because the plot gets draggy or the female lead loses her strong characteristics. Or maybe I was too focused on imagining the next scene for my own that reading other works isn't fun anymore. But I think once you have a novel you are excited to write about, that motivational side of you just kicks in.
Plus having supporters and readers always help motivate me. I remember wanting to drop my current novel so many times but my readers kept me going.
Lastly, having time is a must. Unless you can write at the speed of light, lol. I spend at least 2 1/2 hours writing one chapter, including quick edit. It's very time consuming but well worth it b/c it's your novel where you make the rules 😊😊😊
Overall, knowing how to balance your free time between the two or choosing what's most exciting/important to you at the moment will help you do both reading and writing.

PandaRen22 I use WhatsApp and Inkstone directly because most of my writing is on my phone...

      It's not reading novel here that take my writing time but watching drama 😂😂
      Currently watching an interesting drama which I want to make the fanfic for that drama 😊

          it's because we author have 48h a day.... jk... it was like reading when i'm stuck when i write (which happens often) and return to write after reading a couple (50+) chapters ;) i am a serious author who likes to procrastinate by reading and lazing around~

          PandaRen22 I can't. Sob. I only follow few novels now. That was only once a week reading. I had too many stockpile that tempted this Rabbink to take a break.

          SweetsTomato Same. However, the drama gave a plot idea for this Rabbink.

                Lotuspalm I'm currently watching 3 dramas, The King's woman, Lost love in time and the other one that i want to write the fanfic because I'm so disappointed with the end. If you know this opening song, maybe we watch the same drama :)

                    Hi! I still keep stories in my library while updating 1-2 chapters a day on my novel, with 3-5 chapter releases when my readers made me happy, i.e. ranking goes up a certain spot. The thing is, I read really fast, so it does not take that much time, especially if updated chapters have less than 500 words. As for my novel, it takes me 30-45 minutes to write a regular chapter (600-800 words) and about and hour for longer chapters (900-1300 words).
                    When I am busy with work and other stuff, there will be a delay on the release of the next chapter, but I always see to it that the interval between releases will not exceed 3 days.
                    Just find inspirations for your chapter, e.g. places you've been or have been wanting to visit. This will help make your descriptions more vivid and your thought flow smoother.

                        When I used to write I just pushed updates aside, just keeping track of them as I dive into writing. Then when I get tired of writing and want a break I binge everything I missed, along with manga and anime. It helps to inspire imagination in my opinion. Once I went 3 weeks just on writing before taking a week off to rest.
