As a writer of fanfic itself, I am agree that fanfic should have their own section instead joined together with original, when I'm first tried to upload here, I am baffled by the two options that only available: translated or original, I know the heaviness in the term of "Original" and really hope that Q would change it in the future, we need more respect toward the author who worked hard on their novels.

As for the reason why I wrote fanfic, I am hailed from FF, far before I even know any Wuxia or Xianxia (I do know some JP LN) I like some fic and hate others, and after reading so many, it just impossible for me to not writing some, but I am stupid and didn't have a knack for writing or good imagination, so, I postpone my idea of writing any.

After two or three years later, after I had read many wuxia and xianxia (my first one is tales of demons and gods, then coiling dragon, I am so happy reading them , cost me a lot of sleep times TxT) I tried to fine any of those CN crossover but FF barely had any of them (Like seriously, you can count them with your fingers, along with their chapter) I do find one or two that is good but still, they're lacking.

Thus, I have an inspiration to make one, its based on modern CN and I used JP char as MC, and I am totally did it just for fun while promote the original novel, (I realize by reviews I receive that most of them didn't recognize the novel or new to CN) And since I did without any serious attempt, I copy paste most of the words, (Like seriously, world building is hard... and construct character description without proper visual is terrible...) My grammar was bad and I had no idea what format I should use.

Tl: dr, I agree that Q should give Fanfic their own section, and I'll believe that most fic writer out there is a wonderful people who express their enjoyment of whatever franchise their love through their work.

lol! I didn't find this up till today, here's I thought it's only me who sees it a little annoying where the original, translation and fanfiction were mashed up together!!

you see! There's another who did translate while using MTL as others did, and I really attempted to copy them trying to rearrange the sentences into something at least barely readable.

Buuutt the vote really makes me lost on it when I see my original vote almost has the same vote with it(when it's first written) so I kinda stop it!

because I feel that I'm destroying my own original vote number, but now I'm releasing my old idea on fanfic GDW since last week there's a contest about this and now I'm thinking to drop that since their vote is 1/3 of my original lol!~

facepalm its really hilarious to see it hahaha, although yeah I'm the one who you call as a bad writer since my grammar, bla...bla... is really make people have cancer, at least I only write it for the people who enjoyed it, while I destroyed my own vote with my own fanfic!

So the point is I really agree with this, translation(using inkstone), fanfic and original should be divided into different vote sections!

And lastly, I want to complain! though I did vote there sometimes but this was something which always bugged me!!

    There are sooo many people on threads/posts/forums on webnovel complaining about this....If there was a petition on WN on changing the options from only originals(O) and translations(T) to O, T and fanfics, I think tons of people would sign it!! 😂

    Agreed, I am fine as long as:
    1) It is not a system (really hate those when they are mixed with Eastern Fantasy's cultivation for some reason) and
    2) It has a separate storyline.

    I mean, go ahead and use locations and such that are in the main novel. However, please don't change the storyline.
    Example Martial World idea here:
    Maybe a Fan-Fiction about a Disciple of Mount Potala could be made.
    Buddhist cultivators (proper ones) are incredibly rare as main characters in WN (maybe cos they boring as hell lol) but it could be interesting to see. Maybe take place between the timeline of the Great Calamity involving True Divinity Divine Seal and the original storyline.
    Idk, maybe even make it about Empyrean Shakya or some shit.

    There are plenty of ways to make a fanfiction while maintaining originality which no one does.

      I have problem with originals and translation as well, can we have both of them seperate? I want to check on new translation novels without getting so many dumb looking originals. I swear the app was good a few months ago but now we so many terrible originals just popping up. If your english is bad then either get a translater or quit it.

        evilmonkey I understand that you want the originals and translation novels to be separated so that you could find translations that suit you easier, but to be honest I think it isn’t so bad that originals are mixed in. There are some great originals novels out there that I would’ve never discovered if it wasn’t for the way that webnovel is currently set up.

          Daoisthentai I like looking for fanfics on this site, some of them are quite good, and its easier to find ones with ideas I like. But most of them are crap, lol.

                We can always go and spam them with the review that they deserve. I mean 1 for world building 1 for character design and 1 for story development. The 2 remaining categories require checking few chapters to rate the writing quality. Stability of updates just checks the table of contents. They don't create worlds, characters or stories. How can I give them 5 stars for the copy-pasted thing? If it was separated, I wouldn't care its some kind of entertainment.
