Lazy_Scorpio I agree. Male MC has harem too, and that is romance. Only in some story MC wont get romance. So far I only found History No1 Founder and Side Character Heroine MC that didnt has romance, and thats really pitiful in my opinion. Romance is like a salt in your food. How could you eat something without salt?

But I agree, that you guys should stop being stingy and vote male MC novel more. Something like Kingdoms Blood Line, The Experimental Log of Crazy Lich, and The Great Storyteller deserve top 10 or maybe top 5!

      For the longest time, I only voted for Ancient Godly Monarch. And I agree that the female MC modern romance novels should go, because I, being female myself, hate them. But a lot of Female MC novels are cultivating types which center on.. Drum roll please... Cultivating. Not romance. Male MC novels have romance most the time, or harem. Sure, a lot of females on here seem to have bad taste when they vote for those rapy, conceited, controlling ML stories set in modern day that only ever focus on the man being a CEO and the female the stay-at-home wife.         There will always be exemptions but over all an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF GIRLS LIKE THIS GENRE AND WHAT THE SMALL MINORITY OF FEMALE THINK DOES NOT MATTER.

              The10thCrow You’ve forgotten to mention the worst part yet.. The female novels are just the first signs of calamity, the shit will go down when yaoi novels swarm this place. Just look at novelupdates, like 90% of new novels being picked up are yaoi and the trend started only after the female novels gained popularity

                  Not that stories with male MCs are perfect either. With some of their personalities, if the MC wasn't the "hero" they'd definitely be a side villian. The rapey MCs in particular are a disgusting bunch (thanks to reading reviews, this type can be avoided). I'm not saying every MC needs to be a shounen protag, but they also don't need to think about/actually kill someone for simply being annoying. That is psychopathic behavior.

                  Not that is the only problem with male MCs in a lot of stories. Not all, but a lot.

                  Here's to hoping for better written MCs all around regardless of female or male and may whatever is interesting get recognition.

                      Lazy_Scorpio Sure out of context The mc of those novels are horrible. But you have to into account the world those MC's are living in. Think outside the box ask why would they go to such lengths to achieve their goal.

                          Once again, I don't want to turn this into an essay, so I'll try to keep this short.

                          For motivations, it's usually that the system is threatening them, they figure they might as well test their limits, or they figure they can make money/be famous. Not too compelling, but they do in part level up for survival so that one is at least understandable (as minor as it is sometimes).

                          Still a lot of MCs sometimes cause themselves trouble from their own attitudes when it could have been avoided. Communication and human relationships don't always seem to be a strong point.

                          Actually, does anyone else think it's a bit strange that pretty much none of the MCs seem to panic the first time they take a life (the ones from the modern world in particular)? Even soldiers have a hard time in the beginning and sometimes still at the end.

                          Well, my whole point in the previous post was that stories with male leads and female leads both have flaws. (Darn it. It still ended up being long.)

It's boring and cliché, it's all been done it you ask me, I don't even like romance novels where there's male leads. King of God's is good, but it gets worse after chapter 300-400. And Super gene has romance so I won't be reading it.

                                  If you ask me, it's like the last meal left in your house and since you're too lazy to go buy more, you're forced to eat that instead. I find romance dull and boring with no motivation to back up that statement.

                                  Novels like PET King are absolutely amazing for being able to create a male lead and a fantastic story WITHOUT any romance. Don't think all female likes any type of romantic novels, I'm sure there's more people like me somewhere.

Just say that female leads are just mostly about romance and that's not what I or you or other people like. Female leads can be good, but let me tell you this, ever read a book with a female lead where there ISN'T romance? No. Thought so.

                                                The Qidian ranking system is as trustworthy as IG medels. Also I don't mind rape in novels it's about the same as beating up people, however I don't like it being justified. The biggest issue I have with most eastern fantasies is the fact that they try to justify shit, like the Mc of ATG slaughtered an entire clan because they kidnapped his uncle and aunt, who aren't even related to him by blood. It would equvelent the holocaust happening because some Jewish dude kidnapped hitlers maid.
