WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL this is beyond wrong for the customers. You should have to pay the authors out of pocket for this and not hurt subs. So apple users get to auto stop payments
but android doesn't? The disparity of this is amazing. Super shameful on top of it all. Is this a money grab? That's what it feels like!

I just found out today too that the subscription period has ended and I’m really disappointed. I spent most of my free time reading novel and premium subscription work really well for me and i’m willing to pay the cost despite it is a little bit too expensive.I’m fine if the actual reason is some authors doesn’t get the pay they deserved but if this is some marketing scheme for raking more money for themselves.I think I really can’t support this site anymore.

The funniest thing is that some authors that had more income will now complain they have less income.

OEE Gonna have to agree on this one. I suddenly couldn't read my stories anymore without SS and was like: wth?! ... That sub wasn't cheap but I got to read some of the less desirable novels or the ones completely not worth the SS as a result of the membership. While my SS went to stories and authors that actually deserved them.

I won't be buying SS anymore either. I paid enough to read half a book shop and haven't finished a single story (though I was up to date on almost 17 stories with even more in the library) ... I even waited days for chapters to build up... and now I can't even read without the SS

Just saying: 1 book of 40-60k words is around $15 or £10 ... I spend more than that to read 30 chapters on Qidian. >.>

No more. Sub was fair, SS isn't. Especially for 90% of the stories here.

I must say that I am rather disapointed of your decision but as it is, I think you will lose a lot of subscriber. I was interested in your app because of the mounthly subscrition and since you retired it you lost my interest. As a student I don't have a lot of money and could only barely afford it. So thank you, you just proved me that human nature is full of greed and that I shouldn't have any preconceived idea that authors like to share their work of art the most. I am really disapointed to learn that authors only want to have even more money when people already support their work. So again, Thank You.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I am always a mute spectator on these forums as I find that most other people usually have the same questions and concerns as I do. The reason why I took the time to write out this post today is because @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL and @Webnovel_Staff need to understand that their behavior is no different than Martin “Pharma Bro” Shkreli.

It doesn’t matter if the company is making a decent profit, they built up a stable consumer base and now they want to milk every last drop of money out of us, the subscribers.

I can understand if you had said, “It was a beta run but if you want to have the same amount of access, there is going to be a reasonable increase in the price you pay.” I can accept that but to cancel the service and not even inform us on the official app as a notification? I have to find out what the issue is by browsing your forums?

If you are in the business of providing service to a consumer, it would be a good idea to inform them of service changes before the changes are launched. Great customer service is the benchmark of a good business guys. You are asking me to part with my hard earned dollar, the least I expect from you guys is respect for me as a consumer.

I think in order to gain said respect we as the subscriber base should all pledge to not buy any SS from web novel and let them realize that it is great to monetize on an in demand product but if the consumers boycott their method of selling, the translators and authors will eventually move away to other websites who do prioritize not just them but the consumers as well.

I am all for supporting the authors who come up with great stories that wow the imagination and the translators who spend a lot of time getting these amazing stories to a wider audience but this middle man channel which is acting like a troll asking a high toll to access the content is ridiculous.

Def not buying SS until the monthly sub is back. Was gifting the ones I earned like crazy and if I had known, I would have saved up. Also crazy to think that maybe I’ll just use my money instead on books on Amazon. At least I get a whole novel at once for basically a small % of the cost vs hundreds if I had to spend my SS piecemeal.
Not to mention the fact that the cost was on word count and some of these authors suuuuure love to drag things out and make chapters upon chapters quite worthless and a bear to get through (i love the ones that repeat previous information like 10x just to increase the # of words).

LouFeng1 I do know that there are websites that there are websites available that carry all the novels I read and that is how I got started with reading these amazing stories, first one was, I shall seal the heavens. The reason I liked Webnovel was because I knew that the money I was spending was going to both the authors and the translators. But there is a limit to how much I want to be taken for a ride for.

Chryiss agreed! I have so many books I got into because it was "unlimited" but now... now I'm so broke ss wise it makes me cry. I just spent 40usd and my hubby was so mad at me we ended up arguing about it

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL I won't comment on your removing the elite subscription (although I got the notice days after the fact), because basically it is your prerogative. I sympathize with those who gifted their remaining SS and is currently left with nothing. I'm glad I was careful in gifting my SS, so I still have SS saved up. Now, what I hate about this is that all the previous chapters I've read are now locked again. Why??!! Since we were members and we read those previous chapters while on membership, we should be able to reread the chapters as we need. Basically it means we have already bought those chapters. How come you locked all chapters again? so you are asking us to double spend? We spent on membership already and now we have to spend again to reread? Same as some of the readers here, I like rereading the novels I really like while waiting for new chapters to unfold. Now, all previous and future chapters are locked and it is so frustrating. Now, I'm so tempted to drop everything I'm reading and just go to free platforms to read novels. Or just buy books which would be a lot cheaper. Lastly, kindly address all of the comments/complaints in this forum. It is no se ignoring your customers, you will only lose more and more readers.

Why not focus on ads. That way you can provide cheaper subscription, more profit and retain readers. Most of the app I use relied on ads even though its annoying, it still works.

Sorry but im not buying anymore SS. If the membership program comes back than so will my wallet.

Llamakuma noticed your comment about repeating information. For a SS cost I can understand, but look at the author. Sometimes those starting out make the mistake of doing this (I know I have in my first novel) not to inflate the word count but from the way they see their story. It is not always about money.
