Law of narrative causality applies. Basically anytime anything happens it's done either to highlight the drama of the moment or coolness of the protagonist.
Why are Chinese authors so bad at math?
Spacekitty26 Fuck off, I don't care about how they feel. Grow up and realize nobody gives a fuck about anyone in life unless they stand to benefit from them.
FilledWithHope Well that was a mature and measured response. Trying for the black powder fan approach or just being edgy to look cool?
Authors put a lot of work into those stories and at the end of the day they make mistakes, but if you're still reading despitd said mistakes then they're not storybreakers.
Besides, some of it just reads as being exaggerated to give it a greater impact, like someone telling a fish story.
chibizion Even if it doesn't make me quit reading, so what? When you take a test do you aim for a 60% (barely passing) or do you aim for a hundred?
so what is a good alternative to web novel for these style of stories that give more to the authors and a fair value to the company.
FilledWithHope You aim to do the best you can and try to learn from your mistakes. Authors of all types try to do the same. Doesn't prevent the mistakes from happening. Especially in webnovels which tend to lack an editor on ths original work.
My mother and father went to the grocery store 15 miles from our house. Our family is really poor and thus we can't really afford to buy or use a car.
The average human can walk about 3 miles an hour... Yet my parent's haven't been home for 17 years. Why is that? They left my little sister and I for this long, and they're still not home. Why?
Li Yufei looked at the MATH on the whiteboard with a frown on his face. The author needs to get good at faking math!
snowonereadslikeme Oh, they're clumped up under the term 'publishing houses'. Sometimes, when you roam the streets there are these really strange places filled with bound paper. I've heard this stuff's called 'books', but I could be wrong.
I'd say authors tend to forget shit more than them being bad at math, also there's translation mistakes frequently which doesn't help on our end.
snowonereadslikeme Amazon.
FilledWithHope this is a public chat and I dont think people would appreciate your attitude towards other people, I understand maybe reading a novel with mistakes is irritating however some stuff ate not ment to be said on the other hand let's be real here if someone was to say something mean and aimed at you would you be angry? Would you be upset? Of course you would

In the case of stat advancements this one actually makes sense if it's based on Dungeons and Dragons. When initially setting up a character each stat increase is 1 until 12 or 13. 14 requires 2, 16 requires 4, 18 requires 6. It was a method of TSR/WotC to ensure characters weren't all 18s across the board, you had to pick where to be strong while being weaker elsewhere.
Now in level ups this was put down with flat +1 stat increases, but if the author maintained character creation costs at level up the rising cost to improve would make perfect sense.
Ack didnt notice this was a necro bump from a year ago, sorry mod bot!
Darth_Xiane it's ok :pensive:
