Kni8ht there is.i just wrote long comment on this. But, looks like someone deleted it lol..just use Google n u will find it.

Since I only read on my computer I was feeling like I was missing out on something till I seen this thread... I realized I am not missing out on anything. >_>

I will copy my message here too.
"First of all, the Subscription System was removed cause it didn't work at all. Almost all authors lost revenue in those two months by at least 50%. Even if webnovel gets more money this way, you think they will keep the system that takes away 50% of authors revenue? It was basically, "the more chaps you have, the more you earn." Not, "The better your story, the more you earn." The system was just bad and it hurt authors so it had to be removed. I personally lost half of my money so obviously, I voted against it. There is nothing to hide in this matter.
About the privilege system: It's the author that set up the prices for the advance chapters, not webnovel. If the author wants you to pay too much, it's only his fault and not the system. In my opinion, each novel is different. One is better and one is worse so there can't be the same price for each novel set by the staff. Aside from the access to the Chapters, there is also a discount for the future advance chapters which authors can select. Not only you can access the chapters, but you can also have a discount on all chapters for the next month which will save you a lot of money. It's not the system that is bad, just some authors might be too greedy. You shouldn't put everyone to the same bag and call revolt. If you have any questions just shoot. ;)"

    Oi, supposed to be a new chapter for the sage who transcended samsara, but it’s behind a privileged wall, are you dropping the pace of release for this stuff? Plus you haven’t had releases for Dao Master of Qing Xuan for months and have the nerve to privilege it? The privilege thing should be blocked for stories not making 14 chapters a week, 2 a day that we are paying for is not that much to ask for. If a translator can build up more than that, go ahead and privilege it. But stories that have been stalled putting up such an expensive wall? Hell no.

      This is just stupid, the sneak peak that has the highest saved value is 2500 for 50 chaps which is 50ss per chapter and you still have to pay for more to unlock it. This is blatant robbery. The cheapest privilage was 80ss per chapter for a sneak peak.

      krustynobb exactly, honestly not worth it, for example 200 soul stone to unlock priveliege and 5 advanced chapter (book I'm reading only costs 4 soul stones so total is 20). Adding on to the fact that you have to pay for the subsequent 4 souls tones for the next chapter? Not worth it.

      What would be better is instead of this whole priveliege thing, allow the option to buy more chapters in advanced e.g. Next 5 chapters that hasn't been released at a cheaper price.

      Or a buy 10 chapters for the price of 8 chapters total

        So let's get this correct. 2500 SS for 50 privilege chapters. An extra 10 SS or more a chapter roughly another 500+. Soooo privilege for the month for one book or all books? Either way, $50.00+ is Hella expensive. So on that note, I'll keep playing like I always do and refuse to spend a dime further to accommodate these greedy whore ass pricks.

        Piokilek Those authors, including yourself, are just being too greedy and only want instant success. You are only looking at the short term profits without thinking about future risks and wider consequences. You may have lost 50% of revenue in those 2 months that elite subscription was put into practice, but it always takes time to build profitable customers relationship. The longer the system is put into practice, the more amount of customers that will subscribe to the program and the more revenue you will get. Do you think those authors that signed with real publishing companies see their cash flowing in straightaway?

        Having said that, I really have nothing against the idea of a Privilege system, and it's really up to you and WN how much you want to charge for it. I mean hey, it's your product and service. But as I have said timely and again, the way it is implemented is bad and it won't be sustainable in the long run.

        First of all, the price is exorbitant (is there even an algorithm to back up this pricing strategy?) and customers don't really get anything equal in return. For the amount of money that they're asked to pay, they don't even get to read the advance chapters. The writing/translations/editing quality is not always top notch and moreover, the app is quite buggy. Yep, there I said it, there are just too many bugs that reduce the user experience. The amount of money you expect the customers to pay doesn't match the quality of product and service that you're offering. With the exorbitant price, you're price skimming. You price your goods at high price and you only need fewer sales and hope that you can bait enough whales in order to break even. This may work for a short duration of time, but honestly, do you really think it will support your revenue in the long run?

        Second of all, it was advertised falsely. This was the biggest blow and has led to a LOT of aggrieved customers and bad reputation. And guess what? You won't make the sale if you have a bad reputation and customers don't trust you. Take me as an example, I have only been using this app for 2-3 months. I'm still considered a new customer compared to those who have been using this app/site for years. And in those 2-3 months that I've been using the app, I've spent a significant amount of money to buy SS. I am aware if all those other sites on which I can read the novels that I'm reading for free, but I respect intellectual property rights and I want to support the translators/editors for their hard works, so I chose to use this app and pay the money. But after only a few months, I've become very disappointed in how WN treats their customers with little to no respect. So they're losing me. And I'm sure I'm not the only paying customers they're losing.

        I've now found another app, on which I can read the translated novels for free. So I'm going to read the translated novels there now. With the exception of a few translated novels which I'm still going to read here, because I like the translator, and some original novels that I'm still following here. But after that's done, I'm out.

        Just like someone has posted above, if this company, including their contracted authors/translators don't respect their customers, why should the customers respect them?

          Kuroganez I wouldn't share any kind of app name or link here, my previous comment got striked down for saying a simple truth.

          Once again, I'm not at all against a system that looks like the new once which's been put in place, I just have a lingering feeling toward the price of this system. Sure, I'm not in any way required to use it but I would have loved a way to support the translators of my favorite novels where I'm not asked to spend an exorbitant amount to read more.

          Maybe, just maybe, one of the reason it's so pricey is because @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL is taking a huge share of the paid SS (someone said 50% previously, although I don't have any idea myself) and the translators need to put those kind of prices so they can have a relatively share of the pie considering the work they did?

          I won't stop reading the novels I've be following for a long time now but I'm still not convinced with the Privilege feature.

          ThyUnknownSaint do you believe this? If, all the author around the world read your post they probably faint in the spot and probably will search you to kill you.

            Illusionist Right! I would rather have the old system they had paying $24.99/month than this sh*tty system.

            β€œOk, you took it out replacing a more expensive one in, u retrdd?” πŸ˜“πŸ˜“

            Smart...=_=...

            and this is why i dont read much Webnovels qnymore...

            Thanks, but im done.

            Illusionist
            They are robbing in broad daylight.
            Doing the math,
            2500 ss per 50 = 2500 + unlocking chaps (400) = 2900
            2900ss = $$$ = 😡😡

            Orig: 8 Ss/chapter * (50) = 400ss

            I would rather have the old system (subscription) they had paying $24.99/month than this sh*tty system.
