But that's precisely the point of contracts. If you know a particular story is premium, or the writer is under contract, then you can safely assume that the story will be finished. Eventually. If the story isn't premium or contracted, then there is the possibility that it might be dropped anytime, but that's the risk when you are reading them for free. The premium thing usually means you pay in the form of SS in return for guaranteed updates, but that's not necessarily the case for completely free stories. Of course there will always be outliers and exceptions where you can find a great story that is not premium yet completed, and there will be contracted writers who are sometimes irresponsible, but in essence you're paying for...I guess guarantee or certainty?
