The_Canary That's good to hear! :)
If you need new sources of ideas, I highly suggest pouring over a couple of interesting stories that is similar to genre that your story can relate. Since your story is a fantasy-adventure that has the setting in a school, I highly suggest the ones with the same genres as well. Like... RWBY or Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.
The second one is very good in my opinion. In fact, some elements of my story from that LN (and anime) comes from that, it got magic, action, and the setting is also in a school. So you might want to look into it! ;)
Also, think about what kind of audience you are targeting. Are you targeting readers that are more into regular xianxia stories, who needs a quick fix? Or readers that are more into western fantasy?
Obviously, I'm of the latter since I'm a fan of western fantasy. That's why my chapters are long and detailed. It was simply done on purpose. I hope these tips and advice will be of help to you in the future, despite that it comes from someone who is also new in the writing world... (_')
