a corpse, guy who talks like shakespeare and frog, pee on corpses to summon ghosts - in the midst of race warfare.

Mine,
Bunch of people are killed off and transferred to different world by higher powers looking to have fun by watching them struggle for power like insects.

An aspiring international security bureau officer who has a strong faith awakened the power of God and learn it through a system. Besides a few occasions, there is barely any sentence mentioning the system.

I'm not writing anything at this time, it's really hard to combine my job with hobby, don't have any free time.

Asshole author gets stabbed and wins an asshole system. Together they are assholes together who use their bodies to slightly improve the world and be gay. Well. Only the author be gay. The system is an asshole about it. Also someone gets burned alive.

Let me describe my unpublished one:
A fucking rich guy contracts a bunch of mad scientists to make a game real and then watches as hell breaks loose while the protagonist builds an army to win fame and fortune.

Mass murderer who accidentally pushed people out of windows.
          Memoirs of Theodore Chance

Well, a 'student to be' girl gets hit by a sports car, reincarnates in a fantasy world as a skeleton then starts resurecting the dead, killing monsters and resurecting them, razing villages and resurecting them... A sadistic and resurecting heroine šŸ˜…

Blind dude and homeless chick are married. Neither of them know how.

Lonely rich dude gets hit by truck kun while saving kid with airpods on. Both of them reincarnate in the same body.

          2 months later

A bump on account of this tread being extremely amusing. I need more of this. Please give me a bad synopsis of your story. Keep it short: 3 to 5 sentences.

          NO self promotion, please.

MC got one of the most powerful class in game but he's so insecure of his skills and so afraid of players that it makes him look like a wimp and stupid.

The MC is an arrogant jerk who tripped at the finish line, reborn as a runt gecko he stumbles around in a glorified mid life crisis trying to restore his glory years.

            šŸ˜Ž

OMG, THANK YOU @Sigheti! This thread is absolute GOLD. Well aside from the scattering of poop here too though~

I'll add to this. However, I'm not sure if I can be half as hella funny as some of these more concise story slams. XD

Spoilers ahead for anyone reading my two stories Canaan or Life as a Tree (which is probably no one here, lmao!)

            Canaan:
Girl thinks her life is shit but pretends otherwise by daydreaming even while walking which somehow ends up transporting her into another world through what seems like a hit by truck-kun but no, she was just admiring the stupid rain and the reader is confused by this first person prologue, throw up. Everything is now in third person and the girl having unique, strong powers like some OP MC trope but is whoa! actually female instead of male! that's not vegan. doesn't even know how to use it properly to effectively kill off her foes which actually weren't after her but the suspicious fox that she decided befriending, the same fox which dropped off her enemies onto the MC to fight and possibly die instead, smart move MC! Oh and the fox is basically sucking energy off the girl without her knowing while basically doing shit to help the MC as she travels through the vast world so slowly and grueling for the reader that we've probably only covered the size of the District of Columbia in the U.S. (have no idea how bid DC is btw) The MC can only make stupid things with her magic like carving wooden utensils and grass weaved bags instead of fully studying magic in school which was FREE but she didn't take advantage of it by instead being distracted by how the design of the lines in the classroom are quite pretty, and now when she actually meets a foe that can legit kill her because the previous ones were weak, making her fall into a sense of complacency and irritating the readers that she's too OP, and all because she was too reckless despite being told that by smarter side characters, and now (spoilers of unwritten content) she ends up being knocked out along with most of her adventure crew except the fox that was smart and hid and oh one guy in her travel group that died whose sisters she had just met before they decided to travel together to find the mysterious murder, magic snatching organization that is actually not that scary because I suck at making them interesting enough for the reader, so now she feels guilty as fck because she was powerless to save anyone. And the one that actually got her out of that shit hole abandoned town that was totally NOT suspicious when you walked in, (why the hell would you walk into a suspicious looking place and not think its dangerous and get the fck on out) is some mysterious stalker dude that keeps saving her for questionable reasons thus further establishing that MC despite OP powers can't save herself or anyone even though she thinks she's a super ultra independent and strong female that doesn't have to rely on men, bah! But actually is contradictorily inwardly blushing and gushing over every handsome man and is a hopeless romantic that apathetically pretends she doesn't have heart or feelings, so no romance has even begun in all the 400 some pages written despite the story being tagged also as romance. Hmm, this is too long and only covered half of the first book. Let's make it short about the whole book series!

---> MC is transported to another world (not this isekai shit again) and is an OP female who just wants to fool around in this magical world because she was handicapped on Earth, while still believing she can protect people that doesn't actually care about because of her hidden apathy and then when does develop feelings and actually admits to them, has all her loved ones being killed off right in front of her. Then the rain goddess who was evicted from the magical world comes back and destroys the kingdoms and MC then learns by the end of the book series, that she's the human version of the exiled goddess because of some time paradox multidimensional maneuverings and schemes by the Creator who thought it would be fun to fck up his creations. So see, the "chosen one" trope has now been checked off, woohoo! Oh but now MC must die for the world after escaping death countless times by pushing her loved ones into the fire to die for her. Karma, much? And now the world and her one romantic interest that she was actually successful in pursuing no longer remembers her like some Madoka Magica floof, or do they? If you do, y'all are idiots for trusting in this MC to save the world because she still technically destroyed it with y'all living in the remains of the aftermath of parallel worlds colliding all to save the non-magical Earth of which she doesn't even care to return to so why the hell did she save it?! The End.

            Life as a Tree
Bullied girl with scars from a fire that killed her parents now commits mass arson to her school and gets transmigrated inside a tree in a magical world. She eats other plants and enslaves the wildlife to do her bidding and fulfill her ultimate plan to conquer the whole world as the intelligent commander plant cell that controls the tree. The sentient system cell that gave her the idea of world domination as her destiny ends up being the ten-year old mind of the human teenager that stumbled into her in the forest at the beginning but who neither knew was the case because of a time paradox of the boy trying to go back in time to save the tree's leafy domain and heart from being destroyed in, oh, yet another fire after failing to conquer the world (no surprise), and what do you know? Due to his meddling on being transported to Earth, his cigarette stub ending up being how the fire at the MC's home started in the first place killing her parents, so he was the one who fcked up her life. When he transports back into his world, because yes, now he's replaced the MC at this point, he finds the girl's sapling in the ashes of the fire and becomes a gardener. The End.

The authors the MC. MC got Zooooooooooooooomed. He transmigrated. He got owied. The MC got poopood in debt. Father went no no. MC brain went kame kame brainnn fartuuu. He went to Korea. He will manage idols. But he got poned. He got blacklisted. He got ouchied again. But he will be the rise to be the king. A Magical Chihuahua Warrior indeed. That world about to be foofuud, yayad, mnnmnnd, kuakuad, almost like its a story. A unecessarily long story. Like W0W. They bout to be babababambambazooled.

Girl gifted at science starts failing at life when she tries to convince herself that she's not part of a romance novel. (Why did you make me write this for WPC, Cantiara?! WRYYYYY!)

Chryiss ---> MC is transported to another world (not this isekai shit again) and is an OP female who just wants to fool around in this magical world because she was handicapped on Earth

OMG. I had no idea your story was Isekai.
I really didn't register what Isekai was until someone told me point blank.

ihateyounot Ahahahaha~ šŸ˜‚ I like to torture my characters as well as my readers by breaking many hearts. šŸ˜‡
                  Itā€™s fun being evil lol

                  Edit:
And now the whole story is spoiled for you~ I saved you 2000 plus pages in one long paragraph haha! XD

A socially awkward otaku girl gets taken in a weird world full of odd people with powers to be a bride candidate of a workaholic prince. She began feeling a heavier existential crisis as she stays in that world, especially that her parents left her since she was a child.

Veronica8 Yup! I did say I planned out the story/book series from start to finish. šŸ˜ Ofc lots are still missing from this description such as the secondary MC in Canaan and basically skipping book two. A few major things changed as well too such as MC originally being just the granddaughter, but then I had a euphoria moment one day. Her fate was always supposed to be tragic. If my RR readers ever found this out, theyā€™ll hate how I dive into Akariā€™s, the fox they all love, tragic but bittersweet backstory to only kill her off to save MCā€™s butt for the first and last time. Itā€™s the killing of a god. And it was fun for me, heh.

And this is why I like being a writer. Xā€™D

Oh you didnā€™t realize it was isekai? Haha well I call it that, but portal fantasy is another name for it rather than go by the Japanese one. I canā€™t define it completely as isekai though based on how those types of stories goes. Basically in the beginning, I want readers thinking itā€™s isekai in order to later debunk it like a false sense of lull.

It is really hard to to a truly bad synopsys without actually making it good again haha.

I think the shorter the 'badder':

                    The Oracle Paths alternative synopsis:

Apocalypse occured. Most people died, MC survived. Why? Because he is the MC.

Arkinslize True, but it's kinda more fun and unique with more words. Too short and it might just sounds generic, not necessarily bad.

Oh, but not as long as I did for sure. I just went nuts on it because my drafts are long, and I didnā€™t feel like thinking too hard and condensing it into something edgy and impactful, lol!

This thread made me think, how about a thread about the unique points of our novels? Because for me, these ā€œbad summariesā€ made me want to read since something wack but interesting caught my attention. No matter how cliched a story, thereā€™s something thatā€™s different about it from other cookie cutter stories. Picking these out would be fun but also rather interesting, and from a writer standpoint, maybe beneficial to consider point of differences.

My story is about a spoiled brat who's killed by a typhoon conjuring supergirl for seducing her boyfriend. And she gets a lovely curse takeaway to the afterlife. Neither heaven nor hell wants her so she's sent back into the body of a recently deceased girl, who's father agreed to do the forbidden stuff (whispering). She slowly learns that her mouth will get her a$$ whooped many, many times till she breaks her curse. And it's a love story.

Some depressed prince wants to kill himself but on the day of suicide someone got him a slavegirl. So he (obviously) falls for her and she friendzones him 2 times. And then some war happens and she saves his life. He tries for third time to confess his love. And succeeds finally.

Dammit, yā€™all are supposed to make your stories sound bad, not interesting! Grrr...

((will be looking some of these up later))

                          Villainess wants her body back!!

Villainess is angry. Villainess's blood is boiling. She kicks a vase down and shatter it to pieces. Punch, punch, kick, shout but no matter what she does, it does not do anything. Villainess curses. In a ball, she was finally seen by somebody. Her FiancƩe who is such a jerk that he never noticed her soul until months later. "Bye bye, imma go possess some weak girl's body." She says as she walks away.

Two men meet under odd terms where one wants to kill the other for revenge while the other dude is pretty chill with it. They will eventually hate everyone else and be called the Double Threat (not really, but something like that). They will go through some pretty trials together from which a bloody love will bloom. The novel is BL so I guess there is a gay couple for the main couple. Oh, did I mention that one of them is an immortal warrior who should consider the other his slave? Not supposed to be kinky at all, I promise.

(If I offended anyone, I did not mean to. This is really how I would describe the novel to someone I do not like. Rushed, extremely vague and possibly revolting.)

                            The Alterra Project

Idiot gamer plays video games, finds a hot violent vocaloid impersonater, a weeb, a nerd, and a girl that is too nice for her own good, and plays soldier with them. Somehow nobody is killed off and the whole world is wearing kid's gloves...
