Soulless Corporations will do whatever they can to make $$$ (they have that right as well). Just like readers and users of this platform can express their sentiments on any new policy or idea Qidian makes. If said company does not take heed of current sentiments, it will eventually fall behind the trends and fall into irrelevancy. Do not belittle the free readers on this site as they make up a large majority of the numbers, that keep this ship up and running. Overall, I don't care enough about this site or company to have any strong feelings on the matter. So I'm going to continue to read what I feel, makes my day. Regardless of any restrictions Webnovel places.

          Actually I probably can read that fast. I don't really read word by word when I read novels, specially so if i'm in mood. Its not bland monotone academical text that needed to read every single alphabet to make sense anyway. I still remember binge reading 2000+ chapter novel in 5 days recently. I won't argue your other arguments though because i don't buy coins. Dollar is effing expensive where i live 1=2700....

              MotivatedSloth No offense but the bonus is not for everyone, only for third world countries apparently. Outside of the current Christmas bonus, I get 0 bonus coins on a purchase (30% before they removed even those bonus coins), so yeah for me it is 0,02€ per coin and it is very expensive as I can't unlock my premium chapters with fast passes.
              If they don't discount coins permanently or drastically reduce premium level prices I will simply stop buying premium and abuse fast passes. I used to have enough of 50€ per month to read my 3 novels where I have premium (total 5 chaps a day ~40/45coins + 3100 coins of premium level) by combining the monthly rebate + 2500(+750bonus) coins bought + the daily free ss (25/35). Now if they remove every way to get bonus coins without increasing what you can get by paying (even decreasing it) well I will just stop paying.
              In the end, everyone loses out of this deal.

              750coins bonus out of 50€ purchase : gone
              25/35 free coins daily from check in/votes/ads total ~830 coins per month : gone
              35 free coins weekly from reading activity total 140 per month : gone
              Monthly rebate on premium expenditures 1085coins : gone? I don't know yet, but I highly doubt they will keep it since they even removed purchase bonuses.
              Total, as a paying user, I lose ~2800 coins compared to the previous month. So saying that this update doesn't affect paying users is being delusional, we are by far the most affected by this update.
              I've always been a supporter of the idea that nothing should be free, but let's face it, asking paying user to pay even more while there is a lot of free users who abuse multi accounts and friend invites to get everything for free is a dick move.
              They should simply remove every single way to read for free past chap 100 and put a 10/15€ monthly subscription.

                      Rak0 True, some people can binge-read really fast or for dozens hours straight. I read Harry Potter Book 5 in 2 days, but I think people who read so much like us are not the rule, but the exception.

                          Just a joke though, I actually do realise that our currency is sht, so it would be hard on us to actually pay more.

                          It was on my mind for a while to do the price comparasion, where I would leave WN in terms of SS, so everyone could calculate it for themselves, while dissecting prices of other sites, books or even amazon.

                          And as far as I know, they intend to slowly introduce the subscribtion back, they just need to figure out a way for it to not affect the smaller authors.
