ihateyounot What is “figurative” tea? 🤔 My friend just got back from Japan and she brought me matcha ViA and cookies set from sbux. Not a huge fan of this matcha VIA but I appreciate her kind gesture. Haha Sakura season has started in Japan, looks like I won’t be able to see cherry blossoms this year 😭😭 Ugh, I want my sakura mochi.. can someone send some for me please? 😛😛

CCmei 🤣🤣 come to my place and I’ll teach you how to brew proper tea 😬😉 I’m into Japanese tea ceremony, you wouldn’t want to spill a good quality matcha 🙃

cereus17 From what I remember, it tasted sweet, with an almost floral taste despite being made with blueberries. The macaron shells were made with earl grey leaves and a hint of vanilla (beans), and it was layered with a blueberry puree in between. It was almost like eating sweet, edible perfume—all I could taste was sweetness, really, but I did enjoy it still.

cereus17 figurative tea is basically gossip or scandal or some sort of personal information on someone that will affect one’s reputation. It’s a term made popular through discord or drama between online celebrities... most commonly seen in the YouTube community.

    Where are my tea hoes.

I'm just not on- Covid-19 has me running like a chicken with it's head cut off bc I'm a frontline worker- never should have went into health. N-95 masks leave marks on your face AND YOU CANT DRINK TEA while wearing them. They are not easy to pull off.

Anyways I would like to type an ode to all the tea shops that are still open, providing me sugar, calories and sweet sweet amazing pick me up teas/drinks.

My current favorite is a Wintermelon salted kumquat tea with crystal boba. A tangy refreshing drink that feels but healthy but delicious.

CCmei oof! Thank you for your hard work! I hope you stay safe and healthy. You’re a hero who deserves all the good tea in the world. 💝

T_T TTTTTTtttttttttteeeeeeeeeeaaa. Stay safe and healthy everyone- right now we're encouraging you all to drink plenty of vitamin C and keep your immune system up. Even if you catch anything, a healthy immune system will keep you in the 99.7% rate. Hot/warm water helps with some itchy throats if you feeling it.

All hail the goose. May havoc reign supreme.

I'm back to chugging Jasmine tea at the office.

        Hello tea thread. I had milk tea with dates today. The dates make it so sweet that you don’t need sugar. I have erred by making it with milk, but that’s just my constitution. It’s supposed to be made with milk. Why won’t my body accept dairy. ;-;

I understand for as I get older- the Lactose making part of my body just went kaploootzs. As it does everyone to some extent.

If I consume a bit a day it's fine but if I go turkey and then decide to have a big old latte/milk tea with my snack biscuits then suffering. Maybe a few hours later but suffering. This is my retribution for making fun of my lactose-intolerant friends for years.

          Dates are good. Love dates.

ARe we still alive here? It is I, the usual half-assed author for fun and tea junkie.

Instead of a needle just gimmie a straw for dat boba love.

So one thing I miss during this shelter in place (AHAHAHAHAH I STILL WORK AHAHAHAHA) one thing I really miss are cafes.

It's grab and go right now- for good reason (pls stay home and safe- pls don't make healthcare worker's jobs harder). But as a tea addict it's not just the drinks I'm in love with. There's something special about tea/coffee shops. There's something about the decor and the vibe that's not possible to find elsewhere. You can do work at home or in a library but there's this special atmosphere found in tea/cafes.

I'm also sad about a lot of libraries being closed.

There's this amazingly beautiful library an afternoon drive where I live. Huntington Library and Gardens.
To be honest, I was just so desensitized to it. I had this 'locals' attitude where it's overpriced and that people only came to take pictures (ok I still believe that- but that's not the library's fault). My cousin is such a fan/nerd of that place that she had the yearly membership and I would sometimes accompany her.

And it was just an entirely different experience to sit in that tea house or in the gardens with your drink with a book to get get some studying/work done. That Rose garden tea room was always booked bc it was such a date/luncheon place. THe 'high tea' is very LA- prettier than what you get XD (so I only had it once)

But now that it's....not open- I actually miss it. I miss sitting by those fountains, the statues, the bamboo forests, the green house, or in the (non-booked)cafes patio doing my work and occasionally giggling at a cheesey tourist/couple doing photos. I know this isn't exactly tea- though you could order tea. It's where people came from all over the world to enjoy tea and the atmosphere. So even if it was booked with tourists and couples, now that it's gone- I feel that it was lovely and something missable.

CCmei That sounds lovely~ I wish I lived close enough to a cafe or library like that... but alas. uwu hope the situation calms down soon so you get to enjoy some good ol tea~ (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

Today’s tea is lemon and ginger, for my upset stomach. My tea stock is depleting, and the mint I ordered during a grocery run never came... oh well. Not like I can just go out and get some more in these trying times. Gotta make do with whatever I have left. Which is still a lot, to be honest. Lucky for me nobody else in the family drinks as much tea eheh

I really don't get how can you drink a sour and tasteless tea? maybe my experience or the resources in the neighborhood i live in doesn't offer what you call tea or its just me and my tastebuds.

I rather drink some steamy hot coffee with a little bit of cocoa and milk.
