There are almost 5+ novels here that have the most shitty release rate. I feel like they're releasing based on their mood. How can a novel be translated if the translators releases 1 chapter every week or 2, there's even translators out there that releases only once a month.

They will be fired if they release less than 10 chapters a month. High chance of fired if less than 20 chapters a month.

CKtalon But surely the updates would stop being posted once they're fired? But these have been getting regular 1 or so chapters a week for a while.

Mute There is a one to two month leeway of underperforming for a month before they are actually fired also.

CKtalon Then what's the excuse for Dominating Sword Immortal's TL? That has been 1 a week and sometimes 1 every two weeks for months now, as in around 4 months if not longer. Have they been talked to or in the process or being replaced?

Wabbitz Qidian began enforcing stable releases from January.

It has come to our attention that many novels are currently not being translated or are on hiatus. This has resulted in reader displeasure and a loss of readership To rectify this problem, we plan on ensuring that the contracts are adhered to. If any translator translates less than 10 chapters in January 2018 we will terminate our cooperation. If fewer than 20 chapters are translated in January 2018, we will reduce the agreed upon payment rate or even terminate the cooperation.

CKtalon If a translator gets fired, will we hear if they get a replacement? Otherwise, will some novels get put on a permanent hiatus? Will translators only be fired when a replacement has been found?

KoraL There are more translators than books these days, so none of the books will really go on permanent hiatus (unless it is due to the author).

CKtalon Godly Apex translator, i just want to know is there any way or any methods to advertise a specific novels? like if Qidian team thinks a novels is good but only has 100 or decent readwrs then will they do anything to promote it? cuz novels Like The Devils Cage and The Ultimate evolution has good 1/chap release for long time and awesome story but they have less readers and it feels bad for them when i see other novels which are OP OP Op and no story on top getting alot stones and it doesnt needs to be in top anymore cuz every readers in this app knows that app already so can Qidian do something like a promoting page for a good novels with low readers? the novels in top rank right now diesnt have to be there anymore if its only for more readers( i dont know if you guys will receive more income being top)cuz everybody knows it already now chance should be given to understimated novels aswell so i hope you tell this message to Qidian as i have always been suggesting qidian but they dont reply not just this but translating new novels aswell..
abiut novels suggestion how does that work? do we have to post of forum which novels to requeat then if only that post has many likes and upvotes then it get translated or what? can u suggest them to think about translating these novels pls ..

It depends on the editor team to decide on what novels or what sort of library they would like curated. Additionally, they need to ensure that they have the copyright to do the book. They do not own the copyright to all books on Qidian. One more point, they usually read very far into the raws to decide if a book should be translated. You might like a book in its early stage but if it devolves into something the editors think is bad or basically has a rushed ending, the books will not be chosen either.

Well clearly something happened with Cthulhu Gonfalon. It's translator seemed to have given up. But now the novel isn't even listed or in my library anymore. What happened to the translated chapters?

I want these slow releasing novels to translate faster but not to have them disappear. Well.. Except perhaps TDG purely because the author will never finish it in the first place.

PrehistoricDevil It's really up to readers to prop up what they like. There are many readers that form the silent majority. Editors can try, but is that fair to the rest of the translators/authors of the books you do not like?

CKtalon Wish they'd enforce quality aswell, transN group has many low quality projects.

Yakumo transN is a company, so they are sending different translators to work on the different novels they have. And the problem for the quality issues is precisely because they keep allocating random translators to a novel, making gross inconsistencies. Working as a team to improve release rates just doesn't work most of the time. Too many cooks spoil the broth.

It's certainly possible but It's hard to look for a new translator right away unless they have a reserve.

And also, I think they're reviewing the novels right now and finding umm what do you call them... awful? translators and trying to bring them down. (I made it sound like some action movies haha)

Yakumo As I said, it begins from January. And there are a few books that are considered fan translated on Webnovel. They are not beholden to any of the contractual rules as they are not paid by Qidian.
