Hi! “Lady Cultivator” is literally my favorite story on Web Novel, and it hasn’t been updated in more than a month.

During this time, there has been no communication from the translator(s), and I just want to know what’s going on? Has the novel been dropped? Is the translator taking a break? Is the translator changing? Whatever it is, I just want to know. If there are extenuating circumstances why new chapters are not being put out, I would understand! I just can’t bear waiting in suspense any longer though. I would like some sort of official communication from someone!

Communication would be great, and new chapters would be greater. Lady Cultivator is a very enjoyable novel, but nothing for a month is really poor customer service. It's not like the translators are in secluded cultivation, they all have the necessary electronics, so status updates should be easy and frequent.
If the current translators on Lady Cultivator, Once Upon A Time, There Was A Spirit Sword Mountain, Dominating Sword Immortal, and I'm sure, many others can't deliver chapters, then Qidian should install ones who can. This is big business, not a cottage industry.

It looks like it might have been dropped... But it would have been nice if they gave a reason why and also told us that it was getting dropped. (even if the reason why was because the novel was not popular enough I would still at least be satisfied knowing why it was dropped)

There are less popular novels than this one still running so it's hard to buy a speculation towards not popular enough. It's kinda similar to Jun Jiuling being dropped years ago when it was a very popular novel. Consistent top200 novels don't make sense to be dropped.

Still no official word? How hard is it to just confirm that a novel is dropped? New readers should be warned.

noiserelief Webnovel never warns readers about novels that have been dropped. They prefer to make money tricking readers that don't know anything about the situation: they will never read the end of the novel, wasting in this way their money. Webnovel has always this horrible policy towards authors and readers and Webnovel is never transparent about anything.

This is not something new. They never give any reason when the drop any novels, unless you go out and find out on your own. And the most common phase is "because it's not popular".
I get it.
It's reasonable when release rates are too slow for it to be not popular.
