There are less popular novels than this one still running so it's hard to buy a speculation towards not popular enough. It's kinda similar to Jun Jiuling being dropped years ago when it was a very popular novel. Consistent top200 novels don't make sense to be dropped.

That's a pretty interesting info dump, thanks.
It's a xianxia with a female MC and mainly focused on cultivation. Supposedly really popular on QI? And it's really good. Please pick it up.
Yakumo Yea exactly, word count doesnt matter. My comment was basically about why japanese light novels are in the same price range as normal books and why chinese novels arent.
As for wordcount, since these chinese webnovels are stupidly long they could be split into multiple volumes to sell them I suppose. But Im not too knowledgable about selling books, especially not in regards to webnovels.
Since there isnt a comparable system for webnovels in the west Qidian will have to come up with some way to sell their books here.Yakumo Japan takes part in the fixed book price agreement

China is basically not going to introduce something like this under communist rule.
Speaking about communism a chinese politician said this once:
"The Marxist in China today is not a stubborn, dogmatic, and outdated 19th-century old man, but a dynamic, pro-change, young thinker. We have a flexible approach."
Do you notice something. ;)[unknown] When we're just comparing book prices in regards to quality web novels should really cost less because of the drop in quality.
Adjusting the prices is kind of a big deal though, since there is something called fixed book price agreement in the west (although not every country takes part in this). I think its an important law, as to give new writers even a chance to compete with big sellers. (E-Book sellers like amazon or kobo cleverly work around this issue by not selling printed books and providing discounts, thus E-Books are generally way cheaper).
Now I'm not too sure how this applies to web novels (E-Books) in china. It's save to assume that china would never consider something like that though. Qidian seems too unfamiliar to how books sell in the west.In my earlier post I mentioned assuming that Qidian will eventually have to change their pricing system if they want to have any sort of success in the west. I'm certainly standing by that and in no way defending the current premium system. It's just that this system is all we have for now and after all there are still daily free releases (albeit less than before due to premium novels). I still hope people dont turn to pirate sites and atleast bring some traffic to the official translators.
I dont want to stop you from arguing but comparing chinese novels to harry potter is really stretching it.
One is a printed medium which took several months of translation and quality checks before being released. How is that supposed to be possible with daily chapter releases, we'd need to wait for a translator to completely finish translating the whole novel. Imagine how long that would take with only 1 tl + 1 editor when certain chinese novels are several times the length of HP.
Not to mention that even with HP things got lost in translation and thats only from English to X language. Chinese is even harder to translate.
You simply cant compare a webnovel with daily releases to a printed novel (especially those where authors think god knows how many years about the plot).
I dont even know if theres even a single company doing publishing like QI does in the west.
(But they should still implement a subscription system)He meant month :)
The concept of premium is to exploit people who cannot wait.
You will still get your free chapters. You can still wait. With physical books you also need to wait a year before you can even buy it.I dont like the current premium System either and I do think Qi will eventually be forced to Change the model since there is almost no way to sustain this one in the west.
Also If you complain that this model sucks because you want to support authors and TLs with a subscription based model please dont stop.
If however you complain about not getting enough stuff for free Id highly suggest you shut your mouth and just go to pirate sites so my eyes dont have to continue reading this crap. How long is this going to go on @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL
