I literally have no idea why you would need these notifications. What's the point? My story has less than 500 views, so I get excited when I get a notification, but then it's just super gift and I hate it

The notifications are to serve Webnovel, not readers or authors in general. If someone decided to drop a big chunk of money on a book, then it's more likely than an average book to receive more money from more people... if those people know it exists.

It's a form of advertising meant to popularize the books that are most likely to make Webnovel the most money.

Using the app to claim rewards from adding these super gift books to the library is also by far the fastest free way I see to gain EXP, if you care about that.
