I see, yeah fighting a pointless fight is not usually smart. You are correct that there is a maturity aspect that is relevant as well. Although I thought that was pretty uhh… obvious. Anyway, this point would still fit into the saying because it wouldn’t make the mature person angry. They would brush it off and thus not be a donkey.

Any one else having a problem with fantasy section it won’t update

grimreaper906 Personally, I love villainous main characters, and if you'd allow me to try and change your mind on that, you should read I'll Show You A Villain. I do respect your opinion though.

Smut/sex scenes- and not having the chance to skip past it because the author wants to put key points for the story in those sections. Just have a chapter and label it so I can know and skip it. Or label it in your synopsis which is even better because then I'm not already hooked on a story. Yes, I have abandoned stories after 200+ chapters because it just became a sex show. I come for the story and character growth not the readable porn.

When the characters in a novel only serve the main characters purpose and have no actual depth. Deep seeded hatred for the lead but helping them out and laughing with them the next chapter? Where is the growth?

Dialog can kill a novel if it's too cringey or unrealistic. If it's in the synopsis, hey that just helps me avoid your work without wasting my time. It it's not, I'll find out in about 5 chapters.

Overexplaining characters looks or the setting. I don't need a chapter of repetitive wording to get the point or for you to continually drive the point in.

I hate [Harem], I mean, the MC generally ends up treating women like possessions he owns, it's insulting to an entire gender. Plus when you add too many characters to the story you can't really have good character development.

Another thing I avoid is [Romance], very few authors can actually make it work. It generally ends up being cringey and unrealistic. Like just about every CEO story on this site.

I don't mind OP MCs as long as the author has thought out the story before posting it. Though I imagine that very few authors on this site even know how to draw up a storyboard. The authors always end up being unable to deal with their own protagonists, it's a clear sign of a lack of proper planning.
