LaoTze +1 about the trust and forcing app on readers. Guess it's time to dump WB. At first we didn't have to register to read here, we just need to watch ads. Then they locked unregistered readers out, forced us to register. Then they set premium chapters, removed spirit stone system and changed into fast pass and coins.
They think readers can't acces free pirated chapters on other sites. Surprise! Surprise! I can even read MTL style using baidu trsnslator. But now we had even better MTL sites as comrademao and wnmtl. The latter is better. Good luck to everyone!
Mozi_follower You're eating your own. The more our books get pirated, the less we earn, the less we can write. Soon enough you won't have any quality books because authors will have to get other jobs to stay alive.

they will lose at least 80% of the readers with this... besides being stupid and just ridiculous... it's the worst and that even translating to other languages doesn't work anymore because they blocked it....
AimeeLynn This is just wrong, websites like this are a scam compared to traditional forms of novels / books that have done fine and still do amazing with sales. They are better for the authors of good content for money and also better for the readers. It costs more to read here than outright buying physical books that tend to be better than any of the writing on this website by far anyway. Not to mention amazon is a thing.
What webnovel had going for it is a mass of bad / okayish novels that can be free. The best way to monetize this sort of system is through advertisements (like what the website started with and we where told was going to be the system), subscriptions (something they should do is add a monthly sub for like $5-10), and merch, they really need to do more merch for popular novels, posters, books and artwork can sell. Most of these novels are also Chinese, and not created for western audiences. They are just translating the work and selling it over here too, you no longer using the website and giving them money won't change anything. Western authors that have a decent product can just move over to amazon or publish their work as an actual book on top of the other 1/2 a dozen ways they use to make money.
When the website was created we where told this was not going to happen with how they monetize things, over time it has been changing. If I could buy the physical books for the novels I am reading I would do that, I'm not asking for free stuff. With webs novels system I would need to pay more for less content and the books I pay for are tied to the website.

Think A Little Leaving the story paid only harms the authors... but almost all readers can't contribute... and leaving it impossible to read without paying won't bring new audience and will increase even more the frequency and number of pirated stories... study a little of marketing type and business management before talking shit on the internet....why do you think the biggest digital content companies are games or social networks,,, everything is free?

Why fast pass has to be gone? I don't mind watching ads or clicking the ads in order to get the fast pass. Why have to change to point? I don't even know where I can use them

AimeeLynn I mean your earning less but who's to blame? Its not the readers fault. If they cant afford to fork out a shit ton of money every day to read 4 chapters of your shitty novel then thats that. You can keep writing or you can stop but webnovels decision to remove 60% of their users makes no sense. Atleast when people where reading for free they were voting for novels with power stones etc which in turn gave the novel popularity and attracted more people to it (some of which would pay, increasing the amount you earn). You see the system was fine as is, readers enjoy reading, authors gain popularity/income and webnovel still earns a shit ton of money from their overpriced coins. Its literally a win win but now everythings fucked. You can enjoy having 4 people read your novel while the pirate sites can spam ads at the other 500 people and earn way more money then WN and the authors. Can't be blaming the readers for the sites shitty decisions.
