Personally for me, i despise the billionaire's ex wife and alpha and his mate tropes. Both the novels tropes get on my nerve.

But still, there are plenty of novels like this in many platforms, which has more than 1 million views.

But first let's start with the cons about the "billionaire's ex wife novel."

So mostly in this settings. The mc (mostly FML) gets abused in the marriage. (Mostly by getting neglected, emotional abuse and sometimes physical abuse too). The FML gets married to ml who is often described as cold, rutless, distant and blah blah blah. But god knows why, the mc is in love with him.

She tries her everything to make the ml like her. But in the end gets humilated by him or his ex girlfriend. (Can you believe that? The male leads ex girlfriend is living with him and his wife. And the reason for that is nothing. She is only there for plot. Nothing else.

But after enduring this much abuse. The FML suddenly be like. "Screw this, i am not in love with him anymore" and after that she starts to ignore the ml but still deep inside in her heart she fancies him. (Like girl, please chill. Stop simping for a dude who treats you like a trash)

But after that, the male lead's little ego gets hurt thinking about how can a woman ignore him? This mostly happens because they are so used to of girls throwing themselves on them. (Because they are rich)

And now, the male lead is like (She ignored me, now i love her. Even though I treated her like s*** for years)

But just for extra drama, the FML wants a divorce now. And after 100 chapters she does take the divorce with him. (But guess what? She got pregnant in the process.) (And reading this I was like. Why? If you don't love him anymore then why did you slept with him? (But guys, mostly in this type of novels. The ml forces themselves on the FML but still some people find it romantic. What can I say to them?

And now we have ml, FML, the villainess and now we need a second male lead too right? The one who will protect the female lead, support her and love her unconditionally. But still, in the end. The stupid FML leaves the sml for the jerk. (I am not an emotional person. But i pity the second male lead guys the most) (they usually either kill the sml off or sometimes the author makes the sml a villain. Just so they could show their jerk ml as a saint.
But you guys know how those novels end right? Yeah, the stupid doormat FML goes back to her cheating ex and have 5000 babies with him. And after that, the end

Now let's talk about the alpha and his mate trope.

We all knows that this trope is the trashiest of all. But still we read them. Just for fun. (And i am guilty charge for it)

This trop is also similiar to the billionaire's ex wife. But some thing is different in this.

This is because the FML of this novel is my favourite. Do you know who she is?

Yes! She is the one only. The fanfictions writers favourite. Our lord and the CEO of "i am not like other girls" trope.

Y/N the greatest pick me girl in the world. (She is cringe but great meme material.)

So. I am not going to tell you what I hate about it because this trope is similar to the billionaire's genre.

But here, we have a cold distance alpha instead.

So now, i am going to tell you about a werewolf novel i read in some platform. (I think it was in dreamea app)

And trust me, that novel was horrendous.

After reading that s*** i didn't touched any other alpha stories anymore.

So it was typical at the start. The FML gets rejected by her mate who is supposed to be playboy. (i guess.)

So the alpha playboy rejected his mate because she was very ugly for him. (How dare he say that to my girl y/n ) (her blonde hair, blue eyes, a glasses and baggy shirt is not enough for him. So rude)

So y/n was heartbroken by this and then she went in the mountains. (Yes you are right. She went in the mountains to do sucide by jumping off the cliff.) (Because for her, if her one and only mate rejected her then she has no purpose to live.)

Then she jumps off the cliff but still survived (female lead halo) and then the alphahole feels horrible that "my goodness, what have I done? She was my soulmate blah blah blah."

You guys think he is good right? Wrong. Because guess what he did? When his mate was fighting her life in the ICU?

I'll give you three options.

1) he stayed by her side
2) he left her
3) he was f**king someone in the hospital

Yes, sadly answer 3 is right. You won't believe it but he was f**king the nurse right infront of his mate who was in coma.

(Can you believe that?) And after FML woke up. She asked him about it. But he replied confidently that the nurse threw herself on him. He didn't meant anything. (Like seriously? You can't stop her if she is seducing you.)

I don't know what happened after because i dropped it. (But i think, that Dumbo FML went back to that cheating alpha.)

I never actually hated reading werewolf story actually. But if the mc is a doormat then i loose my interest in the storyline.

But i am looking forward for your novel. If the characters are interesting and strong then i am definitely reading it

Zherie17 I never said that this kind of genres are "mediocre" because there are actually some books related to this genre and the writing and storyline of that is really good and logical.

I just hate reading about the damsel in distress and the cold alpha, mafia, ceo boss. Cliche love story.

As the title says, I want to diss the romance novel with this kind of Brain hole plot!!!

I'm not hating it ... I respect those people who love this kind of novel!! But it's also fun to exchange opinions about what I hate in this kind of novel and what they like!!!

The Novel that I hate is the kind where the main character might be or might not be a Mary sue.

-She could be a genius but hiding it only for the male lead to find out about it.
-she always comes from a bad/broken/greedy/poor/sick/etc family.
-she is a really beautiful girl
-somehow, all the girls hate her
-someone who is kind to her turns out to be pretending
-MC is impulsive (do it before thinking first) for example, the male lead gives her a black card, and she keeps saying she won't use it. But, when she goes to a clothes store for work.. some woman mocks her. The MC then decided to buy everything from the store with the black card receiving a shock from everyone in the store. But, when the bullies left, she want to return everything.
-MC is she is unlucky with the male lead, the male lead clearly hurt her, but she still can't forget the male lead.
-the male lead clearly bullies her, but she still falls in love with him because of his little help in the past (that he might remember but pretend not to, or he remembers it later in the story, or he doesn't know that the girl he helps is MC because someone else is pretending to be her)

• again, mc is stupid
• why is she so stupid?
  -Male lead rapes her, but MC still reason and have sympathy for him
  -MC works at the male lead company, and sexually harasses her, there is even a time when he forces MC to BJ him despite they having no relationship at all.
  -MC works as a maid at ML's house. All the female maid is a bitch and the male butler is an asshole. And the ML is the deepest part of an asshole with a brain full of shit treating the very stupid MC with shit, but MC still fall in love with him because he helps her when she is almost raped by the worker in his house, despite he is the one who treats her worst.
  -why is the people around the ML is evil?
  -Why is everyone good to MC turn evil when they saw ML?
  -the second ML is good, the first two or maybe 5timese he appears, only to turn out to be as much of an asshole with dick and shit stuffed in his brain?
• the side character is good, but they mostly are being blackmailed, by the ML, side ML, the ML supposed to be Villainess fiance, ML admirer, FL secret admirer, some cannon fodder.
  -If FL has kind parents, they are sick
  -If fl has evil parents, they are rich

-It's important to be a virgin
-Not a virgin is a no no no
-Not a virgin, she will be labeled by the ML as slut
-She is the one who got raped( usually by accident, but mostly by the male lead himself, but they don't know it until the hundreth of chapters later) and the ML hates her for it despite she is clearly the victim.
-Ml treats her like shit duh
-they always met first by sexual encounter. For example, ML is running away from enemy, and accidentally went inside FL's room. So, he force her to pretends to be his lover and acting like they are having sex.

• FL is always the innocent looking one that turns out to be really amazing. But, she somehow only start to use it when helping the ML, and never, not even once she use it to run away from ML when she still don't like the ML the first time they met. Or, she might use it to peove something to ML, only for the ML to goes like this; " Woman, you have caught my attention!" And smile.
  Or!!! " Heh.. this girl is interesting!" And he shake his head while chuckling with his left hand covering his lips.
• Everyone has no braincell in this novel except the ML and FL sharing two braincells.

In that story also the ml ra** the FML. But don't remember the incident. And the truth comes out after 200 chapters.

But atleast in that novel the ml is little bearable to watch. Unlike the others.

The ceo ml in most novels are sovieshue's copy. (Only remarried empress fans know who he is.)

(But for those who don't know. He is the ex husband of the FML (navier).

He cheats on navier with crazy two faced dumb girl. (Trashta).

But in the end the FML leaves her toxic ex and gets married to a king from neighbourhood country (prince heinley). And has a twins babies with him. While her ex husband turns out to be infertile. And gets cheated on by his mistress

But yeah, that novel has a happy ending. So if you haven't checked it out then please do. It is awesome novel.

I have 2-3 types of trope which i really hate..
-reincarnated mc is powerfull but decide to become lowkey even if everyone insults him.
Sometimes even elders at sects tries to distance mc's lover from mc,but mc still remains lowkey.
-Reincarnated mc makes a new enemy litterally every other chapter.He takes care of one enemy,then there are two new enemies out there trying to kill mc.
Whole novel just mc taking care of one enemy then another and so on....

[unknown] You know, i can't even blame writers for writing storylines like this because they are writing this stuff because the audience loves it.

And mostly the people who read novels like this are teenagers. And some of them don't even know what they are reading, they just go with the novels with highest number of views.

But for this type of novels to stop coming out. People needs to avoid reading it. Because writers from webnovel or any other platform usually romanticize abuse. And makes it thrilling. (That's why 50 shades of grey and After like movies are famous)

I remember reading a novel, in that the ml was a kind of sadist. In a scene he was forcing himself on the FML and leaving bruises all over her body.

Thank God most people called out the author for it. But there was one person who commented that the scene was romantic. (I think that person was a teenager.)

But what can we say? If fanfictions/novels authors keeps gloryfying abuse then we can't do anything about it.
