I was charged twice for one comic episode and lost three fast passes in one go. This indeed is not normal. Return it to normal where episodes cost only one fast pass.

Webnovel/Qidian have made it so that longer chapters now cost more fast passes. That applies to ongoing novels that you might have been reading for years too. It's pretty sad, really.
Once you've been here long enough, you learn that this is how Webnovel operates - total disregard for customers.
Whenever you think you've weighed up the overall cost of a novel/comic - factoring in chapter prices vs fast passes to offset that cost - always assume Webnovel will throw it to the wind at some point down the line (most likely when you've already invested lots of time/money into a novel). All of a sudden the 'cost' to continue has shot up, and there's not a thing you can do about it!
If you're reading something that might take several years before it's completed, assume Webnovel will increase the effective cost at some point down the line. A year or so ago, every 'fast pass' was site-wide, then they introduced 'genres'. This time there doing it by reducing the value of 1 'fast pass'. Who knows what they'll do next year!

Anotest what makes it worse is at least before they are least randomized which genre you got so it wasn't always the same ones every week. At least now they gave us the video passes but still I do prefer the old system but at least now there's a chance to have four passes in one day but now that's going to leave a bitter taste with some novels getting locked with two passes per chapter. Which will just encourage poor writing because longer chapters will get less attention thus leading to author force chapters to fit into smaller chapters for the sake of more traffic
Its funny how people suggest and try this failing to realize that webnovel does not care. It never has. You can review bomb it to heck and back, won't affect a single thing cause that same plan pops up at least once a year... and webnovel still does webnovel things.

Chapters that cost 11 coins before, are now costing 16
Don't buy coins until they change it back. Gaurentee if there is even a 5% drop in coins, they'd change it back real quick
They changed fast pass value. It's now 1Fp = 10 coins, or part there-off. So 1-10 coins = 1Fp. 2-20=2 etc
So all those standard 25 coin comic chapters, even the super short ones, are now 3FP a chapter.
Guess I'm about to drop a lot of comics and books.
Jus7aguy even just the fact that most comics generally don't give as much content as nova do per chapter & yet they want 3 times the amount of what novels cost which leads to people not wanting spend as much in comics which is a shame because there are some genuinely good ones out there.

From what I can gather:
<15 coins = 1 FP
15-24 = 2 FP
25+ = 3 FP
? = 4 FP (don't think anything exists at this price)
Webnovel knows exactly what they're doing by setting those specific price boundaries!
Most novels I'm reading have chapters that hover around 15 coins. One of them has well over 1000 chapters left to be translated, and it's always 18 coins per chapter - a free pass has literally lost half it's value for me there! Also, looking at some of the most popular comics I see their chapters hover around 25 coins - 3 FPs - so the cost has literally tripled!!!
It's abhorrent!
The most efficient way now is to use the video-advert-unlocks for the most expensive chapters, leaving FPs for the cheapest ones.
Ps. I wonder how long it will be before they remove advert-unlocks too? I'll be amazed if they're still around this time next year!

Customer service: While originally, Fast Passes can unlock a chapter at any price (except for Privilege chapters), in a recent update, 1 Fast Pass is now equivalent to 10 coins.
If a single chapter costs 14 coins or less, you can still use 1 Fast pass to unlock the chapter. However, if the chapter price is 15 coins to 24 coins, you will need to use 2 Fast Passes to unlock it. If the chapter price is 25 coins to 30 coins, you will need to use 3 Fast Passes to unlock it.

Customer service: Yes, this will be the norm for unlocking with Fast Passes. If you wish to use Fast Passes and it will need more than one, it will use up whatever passes you have that are eligible for the book you wish to unlock.
Me: And these passes still are only usable for about 7 days? That makes it tight to be able to read if/when there are similar books/comics.
Customer service: Yes, the validity will be the same. However, please don’t worry as there will be upcoming events and tasks that will give you more chances to earn Fast Passes.

Ugh, so the numbers I had above are correct and permanent. Fantastic.
Y'know, the price of this whole business is truly awful.
In my region a real, physical, professionally edited best-seller novel will be roughly $1usd per 20-30K words. If you do estimates based on the coin prices and the chapter prices, it works out as ~ 150 coins per 20K words - that's approximately $2usd! At best it's only twice as expensive, yet it's for works that have little to no professional editing and are written (let's be honest) typically by B-tier novelists. Also, the prices don't change here either - some of the most critically acclaimed older novels can be had on the shelves for what equates to $1usd per 40K!!!
This whole service is extraordinary expensive, to the point of being extortionate. I truly hope the creators are getting decent returns as a result, and that it's not just Webnovel lining their pockets; however, the sheer awfulness of this company has me leaning towards it being the latter!
Anotest I already lost the Video-advert-unlock option.... i Once paid 0.99 € for a few coins, seeing that is pretty cheap and wanting to help Webnovel a bit, as i like a few Novel there quite a bit. I brought it used all coins for my favorite Novel Chapters. Next Day i did not have the Watch-Add Chapter unlock option, next Day the same and next... Wanted to know what this caused, and after looking quite a bit, in the Forums, i found someone saying that, after buying the Bonus i no longer get the video-advert-unlocks option... So i have wasted 1€ for 10 Chapters, that i could get in 5 days with the video-advert-unlocks, that i no longer have not can get...

Dactarik If you talk about the Video Advert, that gives a 1 Free Pass, then we talk about different things. The Watch-Ads-tu-unlock-Chapter is if you are at a Locked Chapters, it then gives you the Option to watch Ad's to unlock said Chapters, and you normaly have 2 Chapters a Day to unlock like this.
