  • The_First_Defier I believe so, I heard that some of the authors here had their patreon links censored. Though that was said a long while ago, so I don't know how the current situation is rn. WN is changing rapidly recently. I hope for the better.

    • Nizze First of all thx for replying. Second, love the way you put it :-)

    • TheCaffinated Dang son, they really want to squeeze out those brain juice. That's some tall order.

      • I humbly urge to those who are blessed in language and are proficient in writing to write those gems we now need. Don't just stand there in the darkness behind your screens, come out :-)

        • Nizze Then why not do it your way? Write! Write the novel that you yourself idealize! I'm starting to think that perhaps us readers have to actually do something about it, instead of just ranting about!

          Write my friend, write! :-)

          • Ehh, bro/sis... Is that perhaps a contract? If so, then I suggest you discuss it privately with someone u trust :v. Don't post here.

            • Sorry if I'm getting off topic, but wouldn't it be cool to hold a writer's meetup for Webnovel's international writers? We could exchange ideas in an even more better environment/fashion, hence ushering the writing community into a new age of creativsm. Be it xianxia, wuxia, xuanhuan, Western fantasy, sci-fi and more....

But then again, I can only dream T.T

              Don't mind little me.

              • Reinesse I see. I guess really haven't thought of such an outcome. Then my other suggestion would be to hold workshops for writers every now and then. It can also also raise the awareness of "writing novels whilst making sure they are writing in proper grammar." The authors should've checked their own works before posting.

Dang it, sometimes it can get really tedious and grinding to automatically "correct" the glaring mistakes in my head from time to time.

Plus, since a big portion of readers here are non-native English speakers, I believe that their purpose of reading these novels in English to begin with, were actually to improve their own English! [Though I wouldn't say all okayy. Please don't sue me]

In short, I wanna read good novels!

                • Hmmm, WN should've focused more on novels that they currently have. If they keep trying to pull more from outside, it'll just mess things in our currently somewhat messed up situation.

Instead, try to create your own quality products by hiring massive amounts of editors/proofreaders and the like. It'll then help improve your author's skill and you shall have the stories you so desperately lack. See? 2 birds with one stone.

You just need to invest early in hiring those editors. Though, who am I to judge? I'm just a poor boy that loves novels. I don't know how companies work, too confusing.
