  • Anya_Nesh I've always had trouble finishing books. Few were the ones I read to the end. The first books I read to the end and reread several times were "Hamlet" and "The Tempest" by Shakespeare. However, I never read them for entertainment, I always started with curiosity and ended with identification. I remember once, many years ago, I read a Yugioh fanfic with more than 200 caps that unfortunately was deleted.
The story had dialogs, which often copied perfectly real dialogs that I had in an old roller coaster relantionship. It was so similar, and repeated so many times that I finally finished reading all 200 chapters in 5 days, staying up all night to read it. What made me have a real and fantasy perspective (too paradoxical this sentence hehe) of my ex relationship.

    In short: identification.

In my novels, even if they are adapted, all the casual dialogues and romantic scenes are based on situations already lived by me (except for the death and murder part).

    • Evil_daoist Well, "BloodHound: Von's Shade" is not exactly fast faced, but a dystopian romantic relationship begins to build from chapter 9 onwards.

      • I am having a doubt, and maybe a problem with upade ranking. Sunday and Monday (today) I posted 7 chapters totaling about 18k words. But it did not appear in the Ranking. Is there a daily delay to appear on it or is it just a bug?
obs: 6 chapters have been posted via the app.

        • I have been thinking for a while about the best time to lock the chapters of the novel. Do any writers have any tips to share about the best time for this?

          • Carciphones_02 This is going to sound generic, but I like the combination of all the aspects you mentioned.
Betrayal especially when the MC does it himself. The anguish falls on the reader's lap, and that's introspective.

Death when it involves the most charismatic, or even overpowered, secondary character.

Ghost lover or family member makes the dilemma of liking or disliking the character involved in the plot very cool. Generating post reading feelings is a lot of fun.

Memory loss and Facing chronic deceases I use moderately and a little flexibly. For example, in Memory loss I usually assign a future information for both the MC and the reader giving space for this introductory "no memory" in the story to serve as a pretext for whatever plotwist I wanted to add, givin space to alter the story in the future if I find a better way. In the case of illness, I like to attribute it to the use or possession of some power, which limits some of the character's attitudes when they become overpowered, making them more human and more likely to empathize with the reader. Besides putting him in the dilemma between using the power and saving the life of a loved one even if it costs his own life. (It adds to the idea of the "loved one" being a traitor, generating more drama and anguish for EVERYONE) =P

            • Chris_Kuna You could try reading "The BloodHound: Von's Shades. It is a story of fantasy, wars, love conflicts, impossible loves and a little gore.

              • luckyone4812 I could be selfish and recommend my work, but there is a much better one. Read "the writer's deadline" . it is extremely good, with a 100% unique storyline.
