Hi so I'm writing an original novel and been trying to get my views up and I'm trying to put together a list of things that people like to look for when they're reading a romance novel.
I looked at the ones that are at the top and honestly some of them are really really really slow some more into a different genre than actual romance itself or it goes into stockholm syndrome and turns into more of an abusive relationship with the person really likes them anyways.
So if anyone has any words of wisdom please post your opinions and I will take every word to heart.

Scarlettbunny developement, romance is all about developement. Not to well versed in the romance genre but thats what i feel like is the biggest thing. Have two people that are basically star struck from the start and experience no hardships or changes in their relationship, it becomes boring and unrealistic. Love in real life is always changing, as people get to know a person their thoughts about them and way of acting towards them change. Developement is beeded in every novel novel, but a romance novel has to be even more fine tuned in that area, as it focuses on human interaction and how it affects their own thoughts and feelings towards each other. I also must mention that dont make the characters love each other for no reason, show why they feel that way and how it started. And make it believiable for that type of character. To me that is what makes a good romance novel. Hope this helped in some way😁

Depends on what I'm looking for that day :)

Sometimes I just want to get to the cute dogfood moments of two people really caring for each other (if a romance has a sudden or first look love w/o much development, then I better get a lotta cute fluffy moments of doting to compensate!)

Most times, like the above poster, I want the development. A beautiful unfurling of two people falling in love. I love seeing the interactions that are going to become a.. well, romance.

And sometimes, I just want the pr0n. :D

See this is one of my favorite insert I did for my chapter and I got a comment on it but you're talking about this right?
"Feed me. With the way it smells right now I can guarantee you I will not stop at just one." with that comment Eli leaned in closer, closed his eyes and opened his mouth. Olivia blushed a bright red as she looked at the waiting Eli and then to the meatballs. She took a big gulp before puncturing one of the meatballs with the fork. She trembled slightly as she moved the meatball from the container and towards Eli's mouth. Once Eli felt the sauce on his tongue he chomped the meatball off the fork and straighten his back. Olivia quickly closed the lid on the container and placed it back into her bag.

She nervously looked at Eli as he savored each bite. Once he swallowed she stared at him with anticipation. "That was so good!" Eli proclaimed "I am so glad I got you to feed me or else I would have ran off with your container!"

"You were going to steal our food!" Blair shouted as the whole gang started walking towards them. Olivia was mortified she wasn't sure what the saw or heard but she knew for sure they heard something. She quickly got up to her feet "Wow everyone is here! Oh my gosh I forgot to bring drinks! Since there is a lot of us I'm gonna run to the vending machines and bring back drinks! Ok, ok, ok be right back!" and with that Olivia ran like the wind.

Myriad_ I was waiting for my leads to legally turn 18 before I went into the nitty gritty before hot scenes! But yes definitely hot scenes hands down.

But see the problem with Harems is people can end up like the other person more then the intended and it just makes thing disappointing especially when the lead doesn't choose and stays with everyone. It just screams polyamorous.

Scarlettbunny Doesn't choose? That mostly in female reverse harem. In male harem, the MC always choose everyone. Chinese Webnovel male is more alpha than Japanese manga MC.

        That is the different romance.

Woman want to be chased... by the super charming prince(S) (in my sense border rapist).

        While men wants More.

This is just self-satisfaction that real life couldn't give.

MasterRabbink manga why?!?! I loved you so deeply! So basically you're saying that guys want to self indulge, no restrictions what so every but girl mc are more decisive ugh harems though I will think about it.

MasterRabbink I have complied! I will do one as a bonus chapter if I get comments or reviews. My eyes have been opened!

Nikideema Yes! This Rabbink actually interested what women like and dislike from a romance.

I think what I get from a female romance novel

              • Male lead must be genius.
              • Male lead must be SUPER handsome
              • Male lead must be single and LOYAL (Except in the royal harem story. However, No. Single King or Prince is even better).
              • Male lead must have the boss job. (CEO, King, Professional, Super Cultivator) (Prince = Future King).
              • Male lead must be POSSESSIVE. (love too much until he couldn't live without the female MC).
              • Male lead must show some 'JEALOUSY', it is cute.
              • Male lead must prepare to lost EVERYTHING for MC. (Abandoned throne, company, etc) to protect the MC. This made the male lead sweet.
              • Male lead must be AGGRESSIVE. Try to kiss or forced himself to enter the female MC. Female MC often pretend that she didn't like. (Border Rape.) (Are you serious girls? Or is it this Rabbink's wrong?).
              • Supporting Male Character must be Sweet, Kind, another genius but less than the Male Lead. (However, he is a Friendzoned target). This could be several. More the better?
              • Antagonist Female Character. Must bully the Female Lead. Before being 'destroyed' by the MC and sometimes the Male Lead supporting from the shadow? Sometimes Male Lead will act the knight in shinning armor saving the Female MC?
              • Any competitor of Love = Antagonist Female Character. Her cronies would appear first as appetizer. Sometimes friendzoned supporting male could act as a teammates to this antagonist.

A romance about the realization that self love is more beneficial than having to live your life dependent on someone else's emotional baggage for self acclimation to life. Lets have a romance that ends not on a good note really. With the partner in the end going, "You know what, lets be friends." after a roller coaster of ups and downs. Surprise ending which makes people go WTF and opens discussion about how the author is a sadist.

It would be nice to get the novel (The Blackbellied President's Beloved Housewife) I was reading back. It's already on its 8th chapter and today when I checked, all the chapters have been removed. Now it states that "The story is coming soon." ??????? Any explanation would be nice.
