  • ORIGINAL AUTHORS: Something all of you need to know.

Gamblejay It doesn't make sense, cause amazon IS around. There's no point diving into hypotheticals when it's a fact that amazon exists. How stupid do you have to be to not get that was what I was getting at?

Fucking inbred animals, I tell you.

    Chr100 Sigh.

The fact, that novel still continued while some 'better' novel at that time already disappeared. The fact that novel is in Top Ranking mean people read and vote for it. I am a reader.

Your opinion =/= other people's opinion. You can have an opinion, but people also have their own opinion. Your good book =/= other people's good book.

For example, I can't understand FMHM, even when I can read Trial Marriage Husband. However, ladies always said that it is good and screamed for it on TGIF. Everyone had different taste.

Webnovel has to have a variety to attract many readers. Besides, what Webnovel lose? Try to read the contract it is somewhere in NU Forum. Then, you will see your question is 'strange'.

On the other hand, I wonder why Webnovel didn't offer more and more contract. An author need to write a minimum (hard to reach) to get $400. That is not a big money for some. (For webnovel that is cheaper compared to risk of failed translation project). $400 will never be an aim for authors and webnovel here. The aim is for something even bigger. Millionaire Author and Successful Platform (Aka Shareholders satisfaction).

Another sigh... What Webnovel lose? Only Ale had proper service from Webnovel.

This time 'The Mech Touch' had a banner. How about the rest? Even Webnovel's translation novels didn't get as good promotion as Ale so far. The Mech Touch banner showed Webnovel direction toward supporting their 'contracted' works.

    • However, what about the rest?
    • Did also Webnovel forgotten about Ale's LWS after this?

This is also something that an author should see from Webnovel. Since that is what an author's need.

This is still a big homework for Webnovel. I can understand about outside ads since it cost money. However, WN hadn't used its Inside Banner ads to the maximum.

Chr100 which part that makes you think that novel is the worst? is that because you dislike "System" novel or the story itself?
And worst in which term? between the contracted novel or between all novel that published here?

MasterRabbink where did you get your information master? Also when I checked I couldn't find that gifting and fan part in the front page. Is her work somehow different?

Pegazz You can have faith in Qidian like you can have faith in LORD FIFTH !

whe Sure got a mouth on you now. Few months ago you were too busy humping Bai, Pegaz and CKs legs while crying about your book and begging for reviews so seeing this aggresive side of you must mean your balls have dropped finally.

If you quit trash talking and starting shit nearly every day on the forums or in discord and focused on you instead your story might have been worth a damn. But as it stands you're failing in here and Amazon. No idea where your confidence sprouted from.

Zogarth1337 Point flew over your head as well.

Tell me, if Amazon wasn't around do you think everyone asking questions would know more or less about a real publishers contract? Cause they all are Amazon experts right now.

But Amazon is around what does it matter! Because my point wasn't about Amazon it was about the difference between real publishers and the WN contract. Which is why I elaborated further in my post.

Gamblejay LMAO when the fuck did ever kiss up to any of them? I also never begged for reviews, you retard.

Also, I haven't been in the discord for weeks/months, and I only talk on the forums once every few weeks. So, where the hell are your claims coming from?

I'm doing quite well on Amazon, actually. I have two books out getting me over 500 bucks a month, consistently, which is better than most people. Course, Memory Seal isn't doing too well, but oh well. But that's just pocket money. My actual job is day trading, means I get to work at home and make more money than the average American. Plus, I own my own two bedroom condo in DC at the ripe age of 23. So yeah, I'm pretty confident. Life is good, man.

I mean, sorry. What have you done in your life to lecture me on shit?

Gamblejay Also, I've been an asshole from the very beginning, or were you not around when I was arguing with three people a day on discord? Or are you just pulling crap out of your ass cause you're a Webnovel shill?

                    whe Hahaha.

Stand straight, and puff out that chest a bit more Mr. Wolf of Wallstreet.

Oof, nothing to pull out anymore. At least you have a sense of humor :)

whe Its all in good fun, cant hate someone over the internet for entertaining banter. If everyone walked around with smiles and ass kissing this place would be boring.

Well, going back to why this discussion was opened, I guess, as a reminder, if you are presented with a contract, PLEASE SEEK LEGAL COUNSEL before doing anything with a contract (signing or rejecting it).

And since we have authors who are not of legal age as well, another reminder to you all, please talk to your parents/legal guardians about contracts and have them review for you.

Whether the contents of the breakdown are true or not is still unclear. There may be some confusion about wording. Person A took it to mean "X" while Person B thinks it mean "Y". What if both were actually wrong and webnovel's stance is it meaning "Z".

Contracts are tricky, especially if we don't know our way around them. Best is to check with someone with a legal background who deals with contracts.

AzurePanda There's no reason to. Even if it's posted, people will just misinterpret it to delude the masses.
Besides, not everyone will be given a contract. It's up to those who are given a contract to decide. There's no need for third parties to interject.

Velixar Nope. Contracted novel stays on the top since they have appearance in Suggestion, Ladies' Pick, New to Webnovel, and especially RECOMMENDED.

That bring massive readers and voters. (Accept it, sometimes, you vote for the first one you read.). After the top, it is even more readers who will read your novel. Since people looked at the top first before moving downward.

LWS even had Banner and Apps Ads which boosted the novel. Other didn't have until the Mech Touch obtained a banner.

This adsvertisement is even better than translation. However, few popular translation had 'ads' in outside like FB, etc.

[unknown] Third parties are not to interject with others signing a contract, but it's still the customers' decision whether they support a company handing out such contracts to its authors. Not all, but some customers wanna know where their product is from, what the conditions for their production are etc( just have a look at the number of ecoseals on food products)

Velixar Actually, what you said was just wrong. All novels reset their powerstone counts end of the week. That would be Sunday GMT+8 2400H or Monday GMT + 8 0000H (both are technically the same time but whatever works).

So I'm not sure what else there is to really say.

@MasterRabbink was simply explaining why most contracted author work have higher placements in the ranking, which is their front page presence (granted this does not apply to all contracted but that is more the exception and not the rule/norm).

NinjaScroll Now i get it why many author's (fanfic author's mostly) as much as i know choose to create patreon account.

And this, boys and girls, is why you go and get published with an actual publishing house, and not with this fly-by-night Chinese piece of shit company

                                    Nezum

                                    Clowniac
lol, replying like this thread is liget 4 months after it was said that this post is not accurate in the slightest.
you can also See Here that even CKtalon said it was not legit...lol

DeJeL even CKtalon said it was not legit

Not really convincing me there, bud.

Clowniac Well, the previous one was originally posted by a contracted author, then I supported it by saying that the staff said it wasn't legit, so my support is flawed in your mind, that does not mean my original argument is... that was extra support NOT the full argument.
remember, the words it was said if you click on those words you will see what I mean by my original argument.

Zehell2218 Isn't that what you claim for free everything, bonus ss as they called? It's free so this doesn't count as a revenue source. I just don't know how WN segregate the paid stones and the free stones shrugs

                                            My novel is a series.
                                            Book 1, 2 & 3.
What happens when I write Book 1, vol 1 and sign the contract.
But then, I end the writing of book one and start book 2 publishing the next series, instead of just doing VOL 1, 2,3 stuff.
In that case, does it count as breaking the contract because I end the book 1 and start a related book 2 elsewhere??

                                              ForestRage Hahaha.
                                              Peasants like us.
It doesn't except The Mighty WN has looked upon us, whicg im really hoping for btw.
I mean, there is no reward without risk, right...
BTW, whats your book, I'm interested

                                                a year later

Dr_Zombie this is exactly what I read. I don't know why everyone is skipping the minor sections that explain the specifics. They also offer more in copy right than most publishers (usually by the end of a contract a publisher will have 80% revenue and rights)
